Gonna know are hindering us, things we don't even know are holding us back. From an intimate awesome relationship with you, that's the goal. Be close to you, that's all we care about. Everything else will fall into place if we just cling to you, our best friend, our first love Jesus. Oh, we love you. We just ask right now that you would rearrange the priorities and the thoughts of our heart and mind this morning. Lay anything aside that is not needed to be thought about right now and just lay it aside and we just focus on your cross. Focus on who you are. We thank you this morning, we remind ourselves of our identity, that we are heaven spun creations like we're gonna sing with your pride and adoration, Lord, that you look over us today. Your careful hands hold us today. In Jesus' name, come. Come, Holy Spirit. Come, Holy Spirit. Just give him permission. Come holy spirit. Just tell him, come holy spirit. Come holy spirit. You are faithful Lord. Yes, Lord. We just lift our praise to you. Let your the praise of who you are ever be on our lips, Jesus. Name reaction that you to beholding you, Jesus. And that even in our lowest times on our knees, Lord, all we have to do is just glance your way. And there you are. There you are. I pray right now for anyone who would find themselves in this room today, in that place where all they have is just a glance, it's all they've got. And you would just sweep in heavenly father. I'm just remembering this time when I was a little girl and my dad worked with wood and he had these big strong hands like just the strongest hands And I remember I was swinging on the monkey bars and I was going around like this and I fell off and it was the first time I gotten the wind knocked out of me. And it's so terrifying, you know, like and all I remember thinking, I didn't know what was happening, I didn't there was friends friends around, around, whatever. All I knew was I just need to get to my dad. I just need to get to my dad and I remember he was watching the Vikings game sitting in his bean bag. This is like 1981 maybe. And I saw him in that bean bag and I just remember, I just gasping for breath and I just remember I just grabbed his hand and I remember just the peace that came over me. He just put his hand and he said, just breathe. Just breathe. And I feel like the Holy Spirit just reminded me of that that if an earthly father, the Bible says, you know, longs to give good gifts, how much more does our heavenly father who is without fault, you know. And so Lord this morning we just focus on your big strong hands that our heart would just say to you Lord if we can just be with the father. That's all we need. And then you do one better and you're like, I'm right here. I'm always here. I will never leave you and I will never forsake you. You take me back and I'll remember the joy of my first love. Let's just sing that again. When all I have, when all I have is just a whisper. You breathe in me a new song. Name I'm for what we lacklessness your blood has covered what we get is what you pay for just think of that exchange Amen. Ever be on my lips, ever be on my lips. Your praise will ever be on my lips. Lord, we acknowledge that you are here right now and that you long to speak to us. If there's something that you want to speak through one of us, a scripture, a word of encouragement, your word says when we gather and then you list all these beautiful things that build build up your church, that they build up who you are, they are edifying. There's sometimes correction, there's sometimes pictures and words and Lord we just give you permission to come and speak to us if maybe the Lord's put something on your heart this morning to share. We have a livestream and so if you're new with us, we pass a microphone around because the people on the livestream are like, I can't hear. I can't hear. So I just ask that you would just ask the Lord right now. Holy Spirit, is there something you want me to share? Maybe you've never stepped out in courage and just ask the Lord. Lord, would there be something you would want me to share in this room full of believers are here to meet with you and worship you? Do you wanna speak to us corporately? The Lord may be speaking something to your heart and it's just for you and that's wonderful and precious and beautiful too. And every time I hear something from the Lord, say, is that just for me or is that for me to share? Jay has the microphone back there if you have something to share just get his attention. We'll just wait a moment on the Lord. We just wait on you, Lord. We're not waiting on you to in like a nervous, impatient way. We're just being still before you. Your word says be still and just know that you are God. So. You won't hear it. Yeah. It's just for the life story. Oh, gotcha. Yeah. So just when you listen mentioned your your papa's hands, how how strong they were. Last week, I felt like like Abba reminded me of how big his hands are as well. And I had this moment in prayer where I was giving some things in my life that felt really big to me, and the image was I was putting in in his hands. And he just kinda whispered to my heart, and he's like, so Isaiah, you might think that those issues are really big for me and maybe like too much for me to handle. But he goes, you're putting them into the same hands that hold the universe. And those are really big hands. And your issues though, yeah, they're important, serious, they're they're real, but I'm really big. I'm really big and I can handle them. I can carry them. And just as we continue to try and hear them by way of encouragement, just re remind yourself that the spirit of God's in you right now. He's right he's right here. And he's in the room, but he's right here. Yeah. And this sort of goes along with that. This week, I've got a couple of friends that have been struggling with the same problem, the same thing going on and on, and we've gotta have enough faith. You know, they say if you wanna see different results, then you gotta try something different. And stepping out and trusting him to take it and let him have it rather than just hang on to it and keep spinning the hamster wheel. We've got to trust him and believe it and give it to him and not be afraid of what may happen if we let it go. You never know. It may be your best blessing ever. Holy Spirit, once again, we thank you for searching the deep mysteries of God and making them known to us today, right now, in this setting, this family, we are your people. And that's what we want. Yeah. That's why we're worshiping greater revelation, greater knowledge, greater understanding. Yes. Those are great things, but it's relationship with you. Thank you. So today, we step in to we move forward into the divine encounter that you have for each one of us individually and as a family. Yeah. And we thank you, Holy Spirit, for the privilege of discovering those things that you're revealing to us right now. In Jesus' name, we say thank you, spirit of the living God. Thank you, father. Thank you, Jesus. Amen. Amen. Just the just the impression just on my heart was to behold, behold. And I'm like, father, behold you. And and the the scripture that's coming to mind is out of Isaiah, and it says, behold, I will lift my hand as an oath to the nations and set up my standard for the peoples. They shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders. It goes on a little bit, but then where lands, for they shall not be ashamed who wait for me. And and just this the impression on my heart is that the beholding is this outstretched arm of God, Yeshua, on the cross. And and he's here. His breath is here. So to behold and to reach out for the very hand that has been extended to you, do not squander for what has been given in his obedience as a servant of God's will for his creation. Yes. Okay. So just so you guys just a little disclaimer. I don't even like standing up when everybody's sitting down, much less. It's been a lot of work being in front and singing with people. Thank you, Lee. But I look around, and I'm like, oh, these people that don't want to share but have so much to share. I mean, I'm calling you out, Carolyn, that's what I saved her a seat. I saved her a seat so she wouldn't be hiding in the back because she's got so much to share. And now let's all put more attention to her. Anyway A couple years ago, I don't know how many years ago it was, but I had this really vivid dream. And a little girl that was in my after school program was in it, and she reminded me a lot of me where she was just different. And she wouldn't go with the crowd, and she was in my dream, and she showed me something, and I won't go into that detail. But in that dream, I had a naked Barbie doll, and I held it up, and I showed everyone. And I was like, and I did this. Like, I don't care what you guys think of me. Right? And after that, was like, you know, that's God's challenge to me. He I am fearfully and wonderfully made. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You, each and every one of you, have something to give to the family and to share with the family, an aspect to show the world that only you can show about Jesus. And so I was like, Lord, will you give me Abba, will you give me a Barbie doll just so I can remember that? And it was a brunette Barbie, and she was naked in my dream. Okay. So I forgot to add that little detail. And so I work at the village, and there's a place there's a little spot called Barbie Woods where Barbies hang from the trees there. And I'm like, I could go there and grab one. And I'm like, no. Maybe some little kid rides by there and goes, oh, there's the Barbie I put in the tree. I don't wanna take away that little girl's, like, Barbie. And so I said, Lord no. I'm at the top of the gondola going to thunder. That was my assignment for the day. And I said, Lord, you are my Abba. If anybody could give me a Barbie, it would be my daddy. And I get to the top of Thunder, and Matt shows up. And he goes, oh my gosh. Look. Like, literally, it was a Lyft ride time. He goes, look. And behind me, stuck in a road sign, Wasn't naked. Well, she had clothes on at the time. I took her clothes off. But I just wanna challenge you guys. I mean, you may not think that what you have to say is important maybe, but, dude, you could change some someone's life by what you have to say. So I'm just gonna release that to you guys right now. Lord, you chose the weak things of the world to shame the wise Yeah. To shame the strong. And so, Abba, I just release a freedom in this room, a freedom and a confidence that only comes from knowing that we are your child. Lord, I release freedom in this room, courage in this room. And, Abba, by your Holy Spirit, I pray that you empower each and every person here to step out and share an aspect of you that only they carry. In Jesus' name. Name. Amen. While you were saying that, Renee, I was just thinking it just brings such joy to my heart because just like a father would, he knows how to speak and how to lead each one of us uniquely. And he just delights in that that way that he interacts with you. Like, that is so unique between the two of you. It's so beautiful and it's so special. I was thinking about our two who are now both teenagers, Kai and Selah. You know, Kai wants me to hug him and he wants me to, you know, and he will come up if I forget to say, you know, good night, I love you and pray for him. He'll come up and he was like, know, whereas Selah's like, I mean, are we over this yet? You know, like like all the hugging and whatever like I'm an adult, like they're just all so unique, you know. It's like and God just knows uniquely what each one of us needs when we need it. So I just think that's so beautiful. Lord, we just ask right now. Speak to us each uniquely in the way that you know that we're designed. I love that you've designed Renee the way you've made her. It's so beautiful and that you meet her because you created her. You know how to speak to her. You made her and we just thank you that each one of us Lord is uniquely made by you. Would you make us a vessel Lord? Would you make us a vessel as we yield to you? So you can just pour in, pour in new stuff that we can see that Barbie, that we can see what you're doing, we can see what you're how you're moving in and through us and around us. Don't ever let us get stuck in old ways or think that we're too mature for a hug. We're too mature for you to move and work on our behalf, Lord. You know exactly what we need and all we need to do is yield to you. Let's sing this. I yield. So I yield to you and to your careful hands. When I trust you, I don't need wine out of me. Whether it's through a commercial or through a number we see on the field or a conversation we have with a stranger at whatever party we go to today, Lord, we just ask that you be present. Alright. Let me catch up. You can read it off the screen too if you want to. I have seen their ways, but I will heal them. I will guide them and restore comfort to Israel's mourners, creating praise on their lips. Peace. Peace to those far and near, says the Lord, and I will heal them. That's good. So in this particular passage, to give you a little bit of context and background, The prophet Isaiah is speaking what the Lord put on his heart for the nation of Israel. The Lord has seen their idolatry, their betrayal, their short mindedness, their selfishness, their idolatry, and despite all that they are doing, how they're turning their back on him, rejecting him, the lord in his goodness says this particular passage. That the goodness of God demonstrated towards us, his creation, praise the Lord, is not dependent upon our meritorious performance. That's pretty phenomenal. Today, as we dive into our conversation this morning, whether you're here at the TMC or watching on the livestream participating on the livestream, I wanna welcome you guys. And if you're new to Tribe or if you haven't been in a while, this probably looks unlike any church that you've ever set foot in before. But it probably, if you think about it, looks more like the church has historically for two thousand years than it has been in just the last two or three generations. With this environment comes the ability for you and I to have a dialogue. I don't want this to be a monologue where you just come, sit, and hear a sage on the stage. But I want this to be interactive, and I want us to go on a journey together this morning. Because, number one, the days of the preacher baby birding you and feeding you are coming to a close. Those days, at least in my book and in the culture and the direction of tribe here, are that's that's in the sunset that is tapering and waning. The days that are rising, the new wineskin of the days that are rising are the days of strong, mature, self feeders who can individually, with the help of the Holy Spirit, what do we say in Texas, grab a hold of God's word for themselves instead of the preacher spoon feeding it to you. Right? And this environment is very conducive to that because even if you're all the way on the back row, I can see if you're sleeping or not. And I know that we don't have any of those here. Isaiah 57 verse eighteen and nineteen. If you're taking notes, can write the title of our conversation this morning at the top. The title of our conversation this morning is his praise on our lips. The way that we can have a dialogue in two way communication is I'd love to hear your thoughts, your questions, your comments, your connections, And the only the only ground rule is that if you have something to share or contribute or a question to ask, just wave your hand really quickly. Jay will get you the mic, and the mic is not to amplify your voice in this room. As Lisa said earlier, the mic is for our livestream family, those that are participating here in Jackson and down in Bondurant and Pinedale and to locations far and wide, hither and thither to the uttermost bounds of the earth. So with the passage that we just read, these two verses, I'd love for you to look closely at some of the things that the Lord has provided for us in this passage. What do you see that's available for us in this passage? In the form of, like, one word nuggets? What sort of things do you see that are available to us? And you say since we can't go, like, we won't be able to go around with the mic that fast, you say them out, and I'll reiterate them. So what do you see in there? What's one thing that you see? Praise. Praise. Okay? There's there's that's wait. Who said praise? You did. You've jumped too far ahead. The very first thing. I'm watching all paying attention. Is that what you're saying? Colleen. No. Colleen's that. Too far ahead. Colleen's too That's you're too good. You're too good. Well, that's what we get for having you sit on the front row today. That's your fault. Yeah. That's your fault for being so astute and observant. Alright. What are some other things that are available to us from the Lord? Unconditional love. Unconditional love. Now does the translation that you're reading from, does it say unconditional love? Where do you see that? No. It just says, I will heal them anyway. Okay. Okay. Alright. So Anyway. No matter what. So so you're say you said unconditional love. And then I said, where did you get that from? And then you said, well, it says, I will heal them anyways. So you are half a step ahead of where we're going. Let's let's let's remain confined to the text. There we go. There's one. Healing is available to us. Peace is available to us. Guidance. I will lead them. So leadership from the lord. That is available to us. Seen. Seen? He sees us. Being seen. Oh, he sees us. I need to add that one. That's oh, man. How, like, how valuable is that? Yeah. Where do you where do you get that from that he sees us? I have seen his ways. Wow. I have seen what they do. So in some ways that can sound scary like I saw you do that, but in other in other ways I I I need to add that one because has any you don't need to raise your hand because every hand would go up in the room. Have you ever felt all alone? Have you felt forgotten? Have you felt neglected? Have you felt like like the anchor that has tethered you to a firm foundation has dropped off and you are adrift? Have you felt unseen? Have you felt unknown? Have you felt displaced? Have you felt lonely? It is the Lord who sees us. Lindsay, that is so good. Here's the next question. How would you feel if you grabbed a halt of each and every one of these things and they were readily accessible to you on demand and you could like fill your tank up with things like healing. Guidance. I was I was in my mind I was thinking leadership, but I knew it was a different word. Guidance, abundant peace to be seen by the Lord. What would your if you were if if each one of those were like a gauge on the instrument panel of your heart, if each one of those needles on that gauge were full, would your response be? Dumbfounded. Woah. Do you spell that? Dumbfounded. Woah. So what would be the natural response? Now it's your turn. Now it's my turn. Yeah. Peace. Just say praise. Praise. Praise. Praise. Oh, yeah. You'd be on the clouds. You'd be walking on the clouds. Would it not be the natural overflow of our heart if we were to encounter even just one of those, let's pick guidance. And this is a question that you can raise your hand on. Is does anybody this morning, today, find themselves in need of the Lord's guidance in their life to some degree? So let's say that a naked Barbie from the Lord fell out of the sky onto your lap, TD, to give you the exact guidance that you needed to proceed with confidence. I mean, how amazing would that be? Metaphorical naked Barbie. Right? A metaphorical naked Barbie. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, well, ask it you shall receive. There it goes. Better get used to those. I saw you, like, try to hand that off real quick. You're gonna gonna need to get used to those. Gonna need to get used to those. But in terms of direction, imagine if before you walked out of this room this morning, if you had such a strong, clear sense of the Lord's direction, What a blessing. What would be the natural response? Praise. Praise. Praise and probably giving it to others better. Pouring all of what our tank is overflowing with. So being able So if you're if the each one of these gauges, the needle was on full, that so what Amanda's saying is that the it would be reasonable not only to praise him, but also that they would splash over onto others. Mhmm. That's great. That's great. The Bible says from the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. Here's what I want us to see. Would you put that verse back up, Christian? The way we tend to look at this passage is that when we have encountered his healing, his leadership, his comfort, abundant peace to be seen by him, that then these words of praise will come out of our mouth. So if we want to think about rank or order, the idea, and it's reasonable to think this, when I encounter God's leadership, when I encounter his healing, that praise would pour forth from my mouth. And you hear me talk about this a lot, the difference between maturity and immaturity. And I don't ever want you to think in terms of the kingdom that immaturity is negative or bad. Immaturity is just that. As long as that that direction is going towards maturity. God never says, in your immaturity, like, you need to you need to get it figured out and sorted out, then come back to me. There are a lot of things in this world, in this life, that immaturity disqualifies us from things. Nope. You're not mature enough. Nope. Go back. Try again later. In the kingdom, God loves us in immaturity, but he longs to bring us towards maturity. When we, in our normal experience, encounter his goodness, his leadership, his healing, the natural response is for us to praise him, and that's that's great. But I want us today to look at this verse moving towards maturity. Because when you really look closely at this one particular passage, you will see that God has it designed differently than how we most often interact with this verse. We think that when we have those, then words of praise will cross our lips. God has designed it to work the other way around. Get the mic and go for it, my good fellow. So I'm noticing notice with me in the first, oh, two sentences that he says, I will. So it's two words, but he says, I will three times. And so the promiser. The promiser? God the promiser. God who promises. And what you would also notice is he doesn't say when he will. Baby. And he doesn't say how. He doesn't say when. When or how? He doesn't say how. And in my own life, talk about, oh gosh, a fiery place to try and walk with God is to try and grab hold of with all my heart that he will. When he says he will do anything and it applies to me as a new covenant believer, trying to get to that place of Isaiah, it's finished. Mhmm. When and how? I gotta keep trusting him with. But the fact that he will? That's good. Man, it's a thing. Since it happens to be passing by. You know, I've had the the privilege of being raised in the church. As far as I can remember when I was a little girl, we were always in church. And I mean, I grew up singing Jesus loves me, this I know, and I never doubted his presence in my life. I mean, what a blessing it is that I can say that. But in speaking in terms of immaturity, oh my gosh, you know, the thing about it is that you're gonna fall out of the saddle, but you've gotta get right back on. Whether you're a new believer or a lifetime believer, you gotta praise him in the valley. And there will be those times when you get bucked off and you don't know, but you've got to know he's always with you no matter what. No matter? Just like he says, I will heal them. I've seen what they do, but I'm still gonna take care of them. But we are so quick to condemn ourself and say I'm not worthy. Yes. And when we condemn our I think Clay had something. When we condemn ourselves, what is the first thing that that that flees from our lips? Praise. Praise. Come on, Clay. I don't know if I'm qualified because I didn't bring my naked Ken dog doll with the mullet today. But that being being said, what what I get out of this, I'm I'm kinda taking a little different direction of this, but I'm I'm when I read the beginning, I just think of when we when we become Christians, how bold we are. And then we then we kinda back off. We we kinda take our foot off the the, you know, the throttle, so to speak. But he's but this scripture says, you know, he healed them anyway, you know, regardless. So, I mean, he has patience with us. Sometimes, I think we More than him. We don't have patience or don't have boldness with him like we began. And I think sometimes we need to figure out where the gas pedal is and put the pedal to the metal and get back get back in the saddle and and go because God's with us. Get back in the saddle and put the pedal to the metal. I love the the commingling of met metaphors here. Oh, alright. Just working its way down. Back back row. Okay. Let's hear it from the back row. There was a line in the song we sang a little while ago. It was something about taking the old flames away and making room for the new fire. And I just thought that was so profound and so beautiful. We can't rest on old testimony and what's happened in the past, but we need to make room for new fire. And, you know, it's it's that hanging on to God. God's promises. But we're not we're not in the old. We're always advancing and always changing and transforming. So I love that line. The making room for the new fire. Yeah. From glory to glory. To glory, and the hope of our glory is in Christ. That's right. I love it. I love the I love hearing the consensus in general of our tribe fam. This blesses my heart. We're moving towards maturity. Okay. I just I just wanted to to just covenant. He's a God of covenant and his promises. So even despite the unfaithfulness of Israel, because he made this covenant promise with his people, he will fulfill. So he's a God of covenant and he's faithful and true. So he will do this thing. He is not a liar. So there's a there's I don't know a confidence in who he is and knowing who he is. We could be confident. Mhmm. I love how you see covenant in there. That's beautiful. When we look at this verse, bringing words of praise to their lips. Here's what Isaiah intends for us to see and grab a hold of in this passage. That he puts his song in our mouth, but it is required of us to flex that diaphragm, take a big deep breath in, exhale, have that air move across our vocal cords to create the sound regardless of what language may be your first language or what language you're currently working on to make the praise come across our lips. Look closely at how this verse is, and I invite you to look at it through several different translations. He doesn't jump on us and commandeer our vocal cords. He puts the praise in our mouth, on our lips, but there's something that's required of us to actually vocalize that praise. That is our part. So here's the idea. We tend to think in immaturity when we see these things, then praise will come across our lips. It's good. When you do encounter these things of the Lord that are in this verse, that better be what's coming across your lips. Right? In maturity in maturity, those that are taking steps towards maturity will be able to praise him before the fulfillment of these things. Why? Because he has already put the praise in our lips before we see it. Yeah. Now you didn't notice this, but I took a quick picture of everybody who raised their hand when I asked who is needing Oh, no. Leadership from the lord. And so in immaturity, the idea is, okay. I'm needing some direction, some input, leadership from the Lord. I I I'm I'm looking for that. I'm praying for that. I'm believing for that. I'm waiting for my naked Barbie to fall out of the sky on me. People who just hear that little snippet are not gonna have any clue, and let's not tell them. Yeah. Just gotta come. Gotta come. Yep. You gotta yeah. You gotta be you gotta be here to get it. And that's fine. In maturity though, not being children, but moving towards being sons and daughters of the kingdom. The idea is that he has already put that song of praise. It needs to come across our lips before we see, I'll use a churchy word, the manifestation or the realization of those things that God has promised here. I wanna show you a few verses to illustrate this. Okay? If you let's I think it's to the right. Yep. It's to the right. Hang a right and go to Job. Right. It's to the right, isn't it? Job. Am I yeah. No. Sorry. Left. It's pre Psalms. Pre Psalms. Hang a left. Hang a left. Remember when when Michael Scott was following the GPS and it led him into a lake? I was almost led you into a lake. Job chapter 13. Would somebody please read verse 15? Job chapter 13. Tyler Dent's got it. God might kill me, but I have no other hope. I'm going to argue my case with him. There you go. Boom. So you might recognize that verse in perhaps an older translation where Job says, though he slay me, yet will I Hope, trust him. Hope, trust, or praise him. Though he slay me, yet will I praise him. So here's the idea. The context of this verse is that Job has placed all of his eggs in the Lord's basket. I need him to come through for me. His time, his way. And even if he don't because Job in this moment was not seeing any of these things that are promised in Isaiah 57. He's not seeing them in this moment. In fact, he's seeing the complete opposite. His family has been devastated. His fortune, his house, his own health had been completely wrecked. And here's what Job says, put my hope in the Lord and I'll magnify his name even before I've seen these things. In immaturity, when we see these things we're like, woo hoo, like Matt said. God is inviting us to move towards maturity so that before we even see, churchy word coming, the manifestation, Those things materialize in the natural world in our life. Can we magnify his name and praise him? Like Job has done here. You want another one? Yeah. Here's another one. Now you can go to the right to the book of Habakkuk or Habakkuk. Habakkuk, I like to say. Habakkuk chapter three, hang right past Isaiah. If you get to Matthew, go back left a little bit. Yep. It's before Zephaniah, Zechariah. If you get to the the one Spanish prophet, Malachi, just go back left. Habakkuk. Come on. I'm entitled to a few dumb dumb pastor that one once a year. That was your It's only February. I know. Just get get ready for May May the fourth and all those Star Wars Habakkuk chapter three. Pastor dad jokes. Habakkuk chapter three. Would somebody please read verse 16 through 19? Habakkuk chapter three verses 16 through 19. Again, we're looking at this different approach to his his praise on our lips. Whoever has it. Habakkuk chapter three sixteen through 19. I heard and my heart pounded. My lips quivered at the sound. Decay crept into my bones and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will be joyful in God, my savior. The sovereign Lord is my strength. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, and he enables me to tread on the heights. Habakkuk. Dude, talk about maturity. Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, there are no grapes on the vine. Even though the olive crop fails and the fields lie empty and barren, even though the flocks die in the fields and the cattle barns are empty. Verse 18. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven words. Yet I will rejoice. What in the world does he have to rejoice about? According to earthly, carnal, natural standards, I mean this guy is literally living in the middle of like a bad country western song. Right? But honest. He says, yet I will rejoice That's right. In the Lord. I will be joyful in the God of my salvation. The sovereign Lord is my strength. He makes me as sure footed as the deer, able to tread upon the heights. Here's what he's saying. If God calls me to it, he's gonna see me through it. He will equip me to go over this mountain of either difficulty, opposition, hardship, tribulation, sorrow, pain, or in a he will enable me to go over this mountain of not knowing when or how he's gonna. On one side you stand, things are fine. Then you bump up against the mountain, and the mountain could be the mountain of when and where, With the top shrouded in the clouds. But here's what Habakkuk says, he gonna equip me. He gonna see me through this. With that, with knowing that, before I even get on the other side of the mountain, I will praise him. I will rejoice in the Lord. That word rejoice means what we think it means in the in the in in English but in the Hebrew, it also comes with it this idea of jubilant, jubilant. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Jubilant. Jubilant. Might have added an extra e in there. Celebration to the extent of jumping for joy. Can you imagine? Right? Those you don't need to reraise your hand. But those of you who are needing direction, leadership, and guidance from the Lord, can you imagine right now in the midst of not knowing the direction, not knowing what to do, can you imagine jumping for joy? Why are you so happy? I don't know. Because God's gonna do something. Well, what is he doing? He ain't done it yet, but he gonna. I was just gonna say, when we were talking about this, it popped up into my head, and it must be where this came from because of course when I was seven, I had no idea of this verse. But rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice. Right? See? That's that's where this comes from. Right? Sorry. Yes. Okay. Yeah. I mean, I'm still stuck on the Beastie Boys lyrics that I have stuck in my head. You're a better Christian than me because you have a Sunday school song stuck in your head, but rejoice in the Lord. Always. Lee's got something, and then I wanna show you like a little object lesson. If I know it's warm in here. Let's try Leo, opening crank open that window. And then, Keisha, could you Mhmm. And who's ever close to the window is gonna freeze. Yeah. Yeah. But the rest of us will yeah. Chill it down and close it on. Yeah. Well yes. Yes. Lee. So whether you consider yourself immature, medium roast, or well done, okay, here's In brisket terms. Thing that we we haven't discussed. It's feelings. Feelings. Okay. So we we do what habuck? Habakkuk. Okay. We we do what he said. We do what the scriptures say. We begin to praise, but we feel hypocritical. We don't feel like we're being honest. We don't feel and our feelings will betray us and many times keep us from pushing through. Because you said, we've gotta make the decision to put to air what? Air over our we we gotta move our lips. Mhmm. Mhmm. Okay. We gotta move our lips. And we start moving. I I don't feel real about what I'm saying. I don't feel like praising you, Lord. And the fact is we've gotta I have to tell myself, I have a talk with Lee and say, those are your feelings. Okay? They're real. They're true. That's the way I feel. But the greater truth is, I am going to praise the Lord even if I feel hypocritical and regardless of how I feel. That's good. Amen. That's all I have. Okay. That's good. What I'd like to do That's good, Lee. Is show you a picture of literally what Lee just said. This is how most of us operate. Think of a a train on the tracks There it is. Where our emotions are the engine. This is how most people live, including us Christians. Our emotions are the engine that drive our mouth. So whatever our emotions are feeling, if we're feeling led by the Lord, then our mouth responds accordingly. If we don't feel his healing, if we're not encountering his leadership, his comfort, his abundant peace, if we don't feel seen by the Lord, our emotions reflect that and that tends to pull the train with our mouth following close behind. Yes. Sometimes disconnected. Disconnected. And sometimes disconnected. The passage that we just read in Isaiah. Here's how the Lord intends for the trains to be organized on the track. Exactly what we just said. By faith. Before we have seen it. Because the days are coming where the engine of emotions is not going to have enough horsepower to pull the train of the rest of our life. The days are coming when our emotions will not have enough horsepower to pull the train of our life. You know the little engine that could? The little engine that could is faith. The Bible says that each one of us have been given a measure of faith. And God told Paul when he was wrestling with that thorn in his flesh, God told Paul, my grace is sufficient for you. How do we grab a hold of that grace, his his sustaining power? The Bible says, by grace through Faith. Faith. Faith is intended to be the engine driving the rest of our being. And when faith is driving, let faith arise, our mouths follow quickly thereafter. And our emotions follow right behind that generally. Say it again. So yeah. Yeah. Alright. I think you're done. See? Because it's literally right here. Say it again, Isaiah. Go ahead. Yeah. I was just gonna say one of the I won't say it's the only driver, but again, in my own story, I've noticed one of the big drivers in my emotions. What creates life giving emotions or despair, like really hard emotions, is what I'm believing. What I'm believing in the wild thing is that I have control and a sense over what I'm gonna believe, And that's a big driver of emotions. That's exactly right. Yep. Yeah. What does Amanda always say? Emotions are terrible in the driver's seat, like letting a child drive. But they can be valuable passengers. Our emotions, I don't. So if we were to if we were to disconnect the car of emotions, what what popular world world religion is that? Buddhism. Buddhism. It's Buddhism. Buddhism. According to the the the the path towards enlightenment, the Buddha said we need to divorce ourselves from emotions. We have not disconnected the car of emotions. We arrange them in their proper place. Another thing with our mouth and our faith and our emotions is you don't realize the impact you're having on other people that are watching you, how you react to what you're going through. When Clay was going through the cancer issue, people at work were asking me why wasn't coming into work all upset. And it was a supernatural peace that God had given me because that's not me normally. You know, I'm usually very mouthy and talking. But throughout this whole thing, I never shed a tear. I never I never was afraid. And it's amazing how many people came up to me wanting to know why I wasn't talking about it more. Well, I didn't wanna give it credit. You know? So be aware of what you're doing with your witness as well with your mouth and your faith and your emotions. It's good, Nancy. It's good. Oh, okay. Just talk into the Barbie. I just wanted to clarify too. Like, the thought came to me as I looked around and you guys were supposed to like, I'm like, I wanna hear from these people because they've got a lot to share. But the whole point to that dream for me with this whole naked Barbie thing was the fact that, a, she's not your typical looking, you know, what we consider amazing. Like, I could sit here all day and be like, oh my gosh, Alyssa's so pretty and she's so comfortable in her own skin and her voice is amazing. Talented. Yes. Yes. Yes. Right. Yes. How in the world am I could I ever lead people in worship? You know? And it's a it's a comparison game in this country, especially because we all as in in Jackson. You know? It's like, look around. Everybody can is better than you at something. Right. Yeah. At everything. You know? So right. Exactly. But that's the whole point. Right? Like, we can use a million different excuses for not walking in what we're supposed to be doing or speaking nakedness is vulnerability. Yeah. And the Barbie represents childlike faith. And ultimately, what we're talking about here is having childlike faith even in the midst of our circumstances. That's right. Whether, you know, we have what we've asked for or not. And what Isaiah has been saying about trusting him that he's coming through in his time and not in our time. And praising him anyway. Because it you know, it's our warfare. Right? Like Mhmm. Telling confessing it of his goodness despite all the things. Mhmm. And that's powerful for we tear down strongholds that way, y'all. Yeah. We do. Yeah. That's right. So so some of you in here may be hey, maybe you're thinking this. Let me just say this really quick. Maybe somebody on the livestream or listening to the podcast later may think this. They may go, I don't know, preacher man. That kinda sounds like some of that old southern charismatic word of faith doctrine you're talking about. Yeah? Yeah. Yeah. Kinda it kinda is, but I'm not gonna lead us into a ditch. Alright? The the and if you don't know what I'm talking about, don't worry about it. If you if you if you're familiar with, like, the the word of faith movement, man, there were some beautiful insights into the into God's character in ways and how he operates, people that would that would take great leaps of faith and and see God come through. Oh, man. So good. But just like with anything, you know, you can take you can take any too much of any one thing that can become a bad thing. And we and we we we we now have the benefit of hindsight to see how elements or aspects of that movement led leaders and others into a ditch. But come on, y'all know me. Y'all know this church. Y'all know the the the leaders of this church that act like guardrails for this church. So we can we can say these things, you can grab a hold of them, build them into your life without worrying about something getting weird or fruity. Okay? Now, I'm gonna say one last thing and then we're gonna practice this. She did so good. Oh my goodness. She held out longer than some of the adults in this room. So let let me I don't think I have a I don't think I have a slide for this. I don't have a slide for this, but there there there's one there's one little bonus maturity maturity maturity thing that you can do. Sometimes sometimes to jump start the engine of faith, we need to hook up the engine of our mouth to to to to be on the tracks in front of our faith. And then the car of our mouth and then finally our emotions. Sometimes to to prime the pump if you will, even if your faith is as feels as small as a mustard seed. Well, there I said it feels as small as a mustard seed. Sometimes you need to open your mouth even before your faith is engaged. Separating your your mouth from your emotions and just say, well, here's what God's word says. I'm going to open my mouth and praise him. Watch that watch that start, that big diesel engine of your faith, and then before long, faith is chugging away. And then your mouth comes in as a car behind it, and then those emotions. But we've had lots of with Barbies, choo choo trains today. Let's with childlike wonder, let's close our eyes and look to meet with the Lord and have him help us make that 18 inch drop from our thinker down to our knower. That's where transformation happens. Sir. Teach us. Lead us. This fill in the blank is how I grab a hold of or encounter healing. This is how I encounter or receive God's leadership and direction over my life. This is how I run smack dab into the middle of an encounter with his peace and comfort. This is how I can be seen by the Lord. Not just fight that. Through Yeah. Praise. Alright. Let's get really practical for a moment. Either on the where you take notes with your pen, like your little notebook that you bring to take notes and write down things that the Lord is speaking to you, or on a new email to yourself or a text message to yourself or a note like or on your phone. Take several moments, identify what it is currently, the mountain that you are facing currently. Currently? The mountain of of of healing. The mountain of leadership and direction needed by him. What is that big hairy scary thing staring at you? And then maybe you can think of it in this moment. Maybe the holy spirit will like bubble it up in your heart. He can't bubble up any bible verses that you haven't put in there. Just say it. I remember I went to a Christian university. My professor would always pray. Now I'm not gonna pray that, like, he just gives you the answers, but I'm gonna pray that he helps you to recall all of the answers and information that you have already studied. That really stung caused me to study. Lord, I put it in there. You help pull it out. So then, just by way of example, let's say that it is leadership. That's what you need, direction. Then you go back and you fill in what does his word said. Your word is a light to my feet and a lamp unto my path. Your word says in Psalms 23 that that you're the good shepherd, that you lead them by still waters and green pastures. I mean, how many verses could we go on and on about leadership, guidance, and direction? The steps of the righteous man are ordered. You write down those verses. Let's say it's healing. Psalms, I sent forth his word and healed them. You sent forth your word and healed them. We have been given everything we need according to your riches and glory in Christ Jesus that by your stripes we are healed. Like what what what is it that you need? You write that down, then you go back and you fill it in with what God's word has to say about that situation. He brings the lonely into families. Well, whatever. Then you start memorize that verse. Verse. And then you start saying it over and over. That's what it means to to meditate on, to mutter it over and over, and then sing it. This is how we fight our battles. You grab a hold of this one, build in this one principle, I mean, your maturity is gonna skyrocket through the roof. So so take just a moment. Write a few more things. I love the song that that we were on. Let's go back into either that song or portions of that song, and then we're gonna bring the train into the station. Let's just declare this even if we don't feel this way. Like Lee said, even if we don't feel this way, that your praise will always forever be on my lips. Even if we don't feel that way, we just speak that out, Lord, that we will praise you in every storm and every joy. As we stay in just this tender and sweet moment, just a few a few minutes longer, as we bring our tithe and our offering to the Lord, let's just stay in this attitude of praise that we've been practicing. It's just this tender just a tender presence, and I love that that we get to experience that together as a tribe family. With this train analogy, that front car, that engine, how is the engine fuel with coal? Right? How do we shovel coal using that metaphor into that engine of our life? Lots of ways. You can read his word, meditate on his promises. Another way to shovel coal in that engine is to practice surrender. Things that are hard, just practice surrender. Lord, I give this to you. Practice obedience. It's simple, but it's definitely not always easy. What has Lord the asked you to do, huge or miniscule? And do it. Practice obedience. So as we bring our tithe and our offering to the Lord, it's kind of like shoveling coal into that engine. Might be something easy for you, it might be a rhythm that you have, a practice that you have, or it might be a huge challenge or you might not think it's necessary, but it is an opportunity to surrender to the Lord. Bringing your tithe and giving above and beyond that, your offering is an opportunity to say, Lord, I love you and I trust you so much. This is yours anyway. It's hard to give, but I'm giving it. So that's between you and the Lord. You wrestle with that if you need to, and that's okay. And I was thinking, we were reading out of Isaiah and just a few verses before in Isaiah forty nine eight, it says, this is the Lord speaking. God says, at just the right time, I'll respond to you. That's so simple and so short and so Mhmm. Such a good promise to hang on to. God's timing is perfect, and it's rarely the timeline that we put on our Excel sheet of when promises need to be, you know, Isaiah forty nine eight. At just the right time, God says, I will respond to you. So be open to how he would respond too. Let go of the timeline. Let go of the way that he should respond. So as we bring our tithe today, whether it's now or you have a different a different rhythm when you get paid, whatever it is, let's just close our eyes and pray together as a tribe family. We say, heavenly father, thank you so much for who you are and how you love, and thank you for your perfect timing. Thank you that you give us so many opportunities to to love you, to say thank you, to say I trust you, to say I worship you. Bringing our tithe is just one of those ways that we delightfully, and if we need to say that by faith, we do. We delightfully and like the Bible says, God loves a cheerful giver. Fake happy? No. Cheer that inner, that joy that you choose to have like we talked about today. If you praise and you don't feel like that's a choice that you're making, so Father, we just say thank you for giving us that free will and that choice to love you and to respond to you in so many different ways, including bringing our tithe and our offering to you. So Lord, thank you just in your supernatural way. You will take you will collect metaphorically this tithe that we're bringing in this offering, and you will do so much more with it for your kingdom than we could do just by, like, donating to a charity, Lord. Thank you for the supernatural, spiritual thing that is on tithing that you asked us to do, to give a portion of our finances that we work hard for to you out of respect and love and trust to our Abba Father. And say do what you want for your kingdom. Thank you for letting us get to be a part. In Jesus' name, amen. Have just a handful of announcements today. In fact, it is our desire that if you think of your week as a whole pie, that the Sunday slice would not be 90% like it is to most people of your God time, then it would be just a tiny sliver and that you do stuff all throughout the week for the kingdom and in his name. And, we have a lot going on. We are going to serve this Tuesday, the search and rescue team here in Jackson, and that's all set. We have plenty of volunteers, and it's all set up. So thank you for those who have helped, and I ask that you just pray that we have favor with them. We wanna just be we just wanna love on the people that we serve here in this town, and, man, that's an important part of our community. So just pray on Tuesday night when you're praying over your Valentine's dinner with each other. Just pray also for the Teton County Search and Rescue, and that tribe can just not tribe's name, but just that the Lord would be magnified through that dinner that we that we get to serve. You heard us talk about Wind River Reservation. We partner with them all throughout the year and do different things. They are having a food drive, and you guy we told you about it, and you guys gave. So far, we've collected $1,563. So thank you. Please just give yourself a hand to send food to them, and they're going shopping tomorrow.
