1. Brian described freedom in Christ as 'no longer trying to earn what Jesus has already given.' Where in your own life do you notice yourself still trying to earn something Jesus has already handed you?
2. Amanda used the image of quicksand, saying the more you struggle on your own the deeper you sink, and that the Lord's hand is right there waiting. What does it actually look like, in a practical day-to-day sense, to stop struggling and let him pull you out?
3. Bethany pointed out that doing something out of genuine freedom and doing the same thing out of a slavery mindset can look identical from the outside, and that pride hides easily in religious effort. How do you personally tell the difference in your own motivations, and what do you do when you can't?
4. Brian talked about collapsing at Jesus's feet the way Peter did on the lakeshore, just saying 'Lord, you know my heart,' rather than trying to sort out your motives perfectly before coming to him. Is there something right now that you have been holding back from bringing to him until you feel like you have it together enough?
5. Brian said that living in the land of the free requires bravery, and that a lost world sees right through performative Christianity but notices a genuine light. Think of someone outside the church who knows you well. What do they actually see when they watch how you live?
