• Spend a few minutes in prayer this week asking God one simple question: what do you have for me today?
• Read Psalm 139:16 and sit with the idea that God has a specific book of works written for your life before you lived a single day of it.
• If you have been carrying something you know was wood, hay, and straw, take a moment to name it honestly before God and ask him to show you what he actually had for you instead.
• Talk to Gretchen after service or reach out this week if you feel called to cook a dinner for the IDF soldiers visiting Jackson from September 2 through 10.
• Pick up the book Birthright by David Needham, which Brian recommended as a companion to what was discussed about our renewed self versus our flesh and what each one produces.

1. Brian said you can't work for salvation, but your work determines your reward. How does that distinction sit with you, and does it change how you think about the way you spend your time?
2. Caleb described someone who is saved but whose works are burned up as a person who has been constructing a version of themselves that doesn't go to heaven. What do you think he meant by that, and does it connect with anything in your own life?
3. Brian drew a line between identity, calling, and gifting, and said many people get them scrambled. How would you describe your own identity, calling, and gifting, and do you think they line up or pull in different directions?
4. Amanda described a bold line and a little line: the bold line being closeness to God, and the little line being the specific jobs and roles underneath that. Does that picture help you make sense of your own life, or does it raise more questions?
