Talk about it

1. The speaker described sons of God as people so fully surrendered to the Holy Spirit that they will go wherever the Spirit sends them, say whatever the Father commands, and do whatever the Holy Spirit asks. What does that kind of surrender look like in ordinary daily life, and where do you find it hardest to let go of your own initiative?
2. Several people in the room shared stories of the Holy Spirit asking them to do something far outside their comfort zone, and they obeyed. Can you think of a time when you felt that kind of nudge? What happened when you followed it, or what held you back if you did not?
3. The speaker talked about mixture, which she described as being shaped more by culture than by the word of God, and said that even acting on good intentions without being spirit-led can be a form of following our own will rather than God's. Does that challenge or surprise you? How do you tell the difference between a spirit-led decision and a well-meaning soul-led one?
4. The three stages she described, infants, children, and sons of God, were marked by things like susceptibility to false teaching, interest in performance over presence, and eventually walking in the full inheritance we have in Christ. Where do you honestly see yourself in that progression right now, and what do you think the next step toward maturity looks like for you personally?
5. The closing reflection invited people to identify an area of life where the Holy Spirit was asking for surrender, and Pastor Brian said the speed of Christian maturity comes down to one word, obedience. Is there something the Lord has been asking of you that you have been slow to hand over? What would it take to take that step this week?
