Or all of the four seasons. All 28,000 people. Well, good morning. We're so glad that you're here. We're gonna do little something different today. We're just really gonna press into worship and prayer this morning. So it's gonna be like a prayer and worship sandwich with communion in the middle. And I just feel like the Lord wants to do something unique in each of us today. I mean, he does every day. Right? I mean, this day is not different, I just feel like if we come with a heart to really be changed by him today, that's exactly what we're gonna get today. So I love this family vibe. Hi, B. Good morning. And we're just gonna press in. I have an outline for today. Brian is doing an avalanche training course today. Of course, they only offer them on Saturdays and Sundays, and so he's not on high now. He's not with us today, but we've been wanting to do kind of an all worship Sunday, and so this is a great opportunity to do that mixed with some prayer. So let's just press in. Let's close our eyes. Lord, we come today with our own hearts, our own burdens, our own joys, our own worries. Every single one of us comes in here with a unique set of burdens, a unique set of hurts, a unique set of wounds, a unique set of victories, a unique set of testimonies of your goodness. And Lord, when we worship you, we're doing a couple things. We're remembering how far you've taken us. We're remembering most of all who you are. So when we worship, it's not about us, it's about you. It's about how great you are. It's about how worthy you are. It's not about us. And when we fix our eyes on you and who you are in your greatness, in your worthiness. It's not like the problems, it's not like the burdens don't exist anymore, but they fade in comparison to your glory. You give us and fill us up with the strength to deal with them. You some of them you just tell us, give that to me. That's not yours to carry. And today, Lord, as we worship and as we pray and as we press in, we just ask that you would speak to each and every one of us. Speak to each and every one of us uniquely today. Maybe there's a fence that we come in here with against someone. We will be quick to lay that down and ask for forgiveness because our father in heaven has forgiven us. Lord, just make today just a really special holy moment with you. Set apart. Tomorrow has its own worries. Gosh, noon today has its own worries. When we press in, we press in, and then speak to us. Just right where you are, in your own words, just just from your heart, just tell them, Lord, you have permission today. You have permission to come and speak to us today. Just tell them you have permission to come and speak to me today. We give you permission. Yeah. Yeah. Just do some business with the lord before you even sing a What are you coming in here with that you need to lay down? That's our prayer, Lord. Just with your eyes closed just really quick, Amanda, you just can keep playing. I don't wanna just rush through this when I just wanna pray into this that, holy, there is no one like you, God. Let's not let these these just be words to a song, but let's just pray these together. Lord, right now, we just declare holy, holy, there is none like you, none in heaven or on earth that could compare to your beauty. There is no one beside you. You are not equal to anyone or anything that this world or this earth could provide. And then, Lord, we ask you, would you open up our eyes? Would you open up our eyes to see your wonder, to see your glory? That's our prayer as we sing this. Would you open our eyes? Because when we're opened to the wonder and the glory of who you are and you fill us up, then we can be that to those around us, an overflowing cup because we have met with the Lord. We've basked in your glory, God. We want that overflow to look like peace and patience with the people we work with, with clients, with our families. When we sing those words and show me who you are and fill me, Lord, that's our prayer this morning. Show us who you are and fill us. Let's sing this holy. There is no one left. Just make this your prayer. Dry. Fill us up, fill us up, Lord. Just ask him to fill you up today. Where I'm dry, where I'm We said that you have water, that if we drink from the living water, that we'll never thirst again. Show us what that means, Lord. Show us how to drink deeply of your presence. Show us. If we don't know, show us how to press into you today. Teach us. We'll just fix our eyes on you. Sing highest praise to him. As we continue to worship, just ask the lord if he would have a word for you today, a picture. Maybe he's speaking to you. Maybe he's laying a scripture on your heart to share. Just wanna encourage you. This is a safe place and that this is a great learning ground, a training ground for when we go outside of these walls and the Lord would put a word on our heart to share with a stranger at the grocery store. If we practice here, we're more inclined to step out in faith there. So, Lord, we just ask to come. Come by your spirit. Speak to us. Your word says that when we gather and then you say all kinds of things that you wanna see that your people do, we're all hearing the same voice and the same holy spirit. Come speak to us. Come speak to us today through your church, through your bride, through your people. Gretchen has a microphone. If you feel like, Lord, put something on your heart, that's just for our livestream family because they wanna hear what you have to say. So you just get Gretchen's attention. But let's just invite the Holy Spirit. Just give him permission to come and speak to you today. Holy Come and speak to us, Lord. So, Lord, speak in anybody, something to share, Renee. So I'm glad you don't have to pass me away. I have to say this because if I don't, I'll be disobedient. So I love those. Just a really mini summary testimony. I gave my heart to Jesus when I was 16 and radical. I was radical. And then I made it to my twenties and started making really bad decisions because I was looking for love in all the wrong places to be cliche. But, you know, I don't know who said it, but when sin takes you further than you wanna go and keeps you longer than you wanna stay and cost you more than you wanted to spend, that was me. Thank you, dear. And but the Lord is faithful. He's faithful do that. Able to And it was one of those encounters where my heart was burning inside of me so hard that I knew it was him. And, you know, as a quick summary, like the bottom line that I wanted to pass on to you is that he said to me, the Lord is trying to speak to us each and every one of us every day in so many different ways, whether it's through music or whether it's through the word or whether it's through other people or situations, divine appointments, or even nature. He said, you know, what if you see a turtle walking across your path? What's he trying to pray that we we pray heart that feels the brevity of it in Jesus' name. And when you see sparklies in the sky, that's not just just cold weather interacting with water molecules in the air. Air. That's him showering you with his love. That's diamonds. You're the bride of Christ, y'all. He's showering you with diamonds. He's not just putting a ring on it. He's showering you. So be alert. If you notice something, that's the Holy Spirit saying, I love you. Thank you, Lord. That's what we just sang. Let us become more aware of your presence, god. It's me it's me again. So forty nine years ago, I needed instruction on how to hold a mic and no. Forty nine years ago, I came to know the Lord as my personal savior. And I had a friend who was not saved but moved across town and through a, you know, a bible believing, church, he met someone who shared the gospel with him and he faithfully called me on the phone week after week after week. And, because of his faithfulness, you know, I became a a born again believer. So I have recently connected back with him, and every day, not once a week, not once a month, once a year, every day, he sends me scripture just to reinforce that bond that not only that he and I have, but also the bond that I have with Jesus Christ. Mhmm. And I've got this scripture, John seventeen eighteen through 21. As you sent me, and this is Jesus talking to God. He says, as you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. And for their sake, I consecrate myself that they also may be sanctified in truth. I do not ask for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word, that they may all be one just as you, father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. You know, it's our responsibility to go out. We see people every day that we could witness to, we could get to know better, that we can, share, pray for. There's so many opportunities, and I think I think prayer is probably one of the best because you can always go back and have a second visit to ask how things are going. But, you know, we have a responsibility, and I hope that everybody here will realize that and also, step out. Step out in faith that what you know, it didn't matter how little or how great, God, he'll he'll never let it come back void. So step out. This morning, I had said, you know, God, I just wanna be like these other people. Talk to me. Give me a visible sign. Don't be so subtle. And then I just kept hearing, you know, Leah, you need to pray for people's hurts this morning. People came with hurts. And, you know, the opening thing that you said to just, you know, let those pause or whatever, it just there there were still people with hurts. And Angie just asked me to read this for her because she's really struggling this morning. So let's you know, God, please put your hands on Angie this morning because she just really needs your love and your peace right now. But this is, a daily verse from hers, the divine romance, three hundred and sixty five days of meditating on the song of songs. And today, it or it says, embracing vulnerability, and she wanted me to read this part. It says, come. Will you put a hand on Angie? There you go. Thank you. It says, come with your burdens and cares and lay them at his feet. No trauma is too hard for him to heal. No memory is so deep that he cannot reach into it and remove the sting. His love and his power are unstoppable. Part of the healing wounds of the past is to become vulnerable with others. God never asks you to wear a mask and pretend that everything is okay when it isn't. God created you with emotions, and those emotions should lead you into freedom, not keep you locked up in pain. Sometimes processing emotions with the Lord is in private is enough to set you free. However, sometimes it takes someone you trust to help you walk you through to victory. If you don't have someone to trust, ask him to bring the right person across your path, and he will. That's good. Will you pray that, Leah? Pray that just that especially that last part that, you know, just time and intimacy with him, we can be set free. That's the amazing thing with God. And then if we don't have someone that can come alongside us like Clay was saying, Lord, bring that person. Maybe an unlikely person. Would you pray that? Heavenly father, we are just here, and I can feel your presence this morning. I can. And there are just so many people that have hurts. And maybe we just are scared to ask that random someone to just help us find the way. Lord, give those the strength that need to step out and say, hey. Do you need a hand? And pray over them, Lord. Pray over them and give them the courage to help those out, those people out that just need their guidance and bring them to you, father, and heal all those hurts. In your glorious name, amen. I think it's, like, important, oh gosh. Yeah. This summer, I feel like I I struggled a lot. Like, I was pretty distant from from God. And then God gave me opportunity to come and be closer with him and and grow in my faith. And, like, even I feel like a lot, like, with my generation and that kind of stuff. Like, they teach us with the, like, marketing and that kind of stuff, like, instant gratification is the way to, like, live your life. Like, you should get something right away right away. But instant gratification isn't gonna cause you lifelong happiness. Following God and choosing faith is. It's good, Joe. Lord, give us that grit. Give us that fortitude to press in and to stay pressed into you. We all want things immediately. Just pressing him. I've tasted and seen of the sweetest I've left when my heart I just feel like to share this with you. So in just a minute, we're just gonna we're gonna stay in this attitude of worship and we're gonna just read how Jesus told us to pray. And I just think every once in while, it's just so good to go back, you know, the disciples were with him every day and they saw him going away. They saw him getting into that into my place with the Lord and and, you know, he coveted that time away with the father. And then they asked Jesus, how how should we pray? And if Jesus himself said pray this way, it's it's good to remember. But, you know, I've been meditating on this and without Brian here this Sunday, I just knew the Lord just wanted to do something that was, you know, in our wheelhouse and just naturally what the Lord would do. And so I was reading through that and reading through that, and I have been for maybe about a month praying that our Father just line by line and just really asking the Lord to search my heart. You know, Lord, do hallowed be thy name. Like, keep your name holy. And where am I doing that, Lord? Show me how to do that. And I just take each line and so I thought we could do that this morning in just a minute, but I as I'm preparing and just like a gracious good father, if you ask him, he will speak to you. And so I was thinking through the our father and we're gonna do communion here in just a little bit as well. And the Lord was like, I pulled up at the TMC at like 07:45 this morning just to come and pray. The Lord was like, how about before you even get out the car, you wanna deal with some unforgiveness you've got? I was like, why was gonna do that with everybody else? But he's so gracious. Like he's just so good. He doesn't want us going around with things in our blind spot and that's exactly what they can be. Like they can just be in our blind spot until you ask him. Lord, is there something that I need to let go of? And specifically, you know, father forgive me was what I was praying this morning for anything I've done, you know, and he's like, well, do you wanna name it? Because we can go ahead and do that right now. And so I was thinking, you know, the Lord just dealt with me on unforgiveness I had for someone. And he's just so good is my point. He's just so good in his goodness. He doesn't wanna bring up hurts. He doesn't wanna bring up stuff to, like, throw them in your face. He wants to bring them up gently and kindly, like, let's deal with that. Let's deal with that. And sometimes it's, let's yank it out at the root. Sometimes he knows that it's we just we need to take our little shears and we need to prune prune prune it back, you know. He knows. But the point is is if you earnestly ask him and that is your prayer, Lord, reveal anything in me that would not be pleasing to you. If there's any unforgiveness, if there's anything because, I mean, he Jesus even says, like, you have to forgive others for the father to forgive you because he it's just he's too holy, you know, and he just longs for us to be free. He longs for us to be free. And I think there's just my sense in this room today is, you know, there's a lot of stuff that we didn't do to ourselves. You know, there's a lot of stuff that we didn't do and then we're like, oh, shoot. I did that and now I have to ask the Lord to forgive me. I do a lot of that as well, but there's some things that were done to us and those are sometimes the hardest to forgive because we can't find ownership in it or we allow the enemy to give us improper ownership. If I had just known none of that probably wouldn't happen to me or what did I do in order to deserve that, you know. And so the enemy just gets in there and he creates this like yucky swirl of confusion. And I learned in a season of our life, if there is confusion, that is not the Lord. He does not operate that way. Like if there's a situation or something and, you know, people are people and sometimes we just get into stuff. But when there's just confusion and it seems like no one's hearing you and you're not hearing them, it's just like, take a step back and just ask the Lord, Lord, just put in its proper place what is the enemy at work here. Because you can just do one thing with that and you can just speak authority over it and send it right back to the pit of hell where it came from. You don't have to wrestle through that. That's what the enemy would like you to think. Wrestle through that gross thing. Come on. Let's let's like rehash that. Let's play through all the scenarios of how, you know, you were hurt and whatever. And there's a season where he'll be like, let's deal with that. Let's deal with that. But I just feel like in the room today, I just see this picture while we are worshiping and the Lord did this for me. It's like, you know, when it's kind of gross, but like when there's like something in someone's body and it's like a cyst and they can't remove it, the doctor would say they can't remove it because it's like, oh, there's so many blood vessels and there's so many whatever and it's like the bad thing gets tied in and messed and tangled with the good stuff. And so it's like, you know, it's just all messed together. So you know that there's like some good stuff there and that needs to stay, but then how do I get rid of the bad stuff? And I just feel like the picture I get during worship today is that the Lord just wants to so gently and lovingly just untangle whatever that mess is that you keep playing through in your mind or that hurt, and he just wants to take each part and he just wants to separate them. He just wants to separate them all just in their proper place. This you can own, daughter. This you can own, and you can ask for forgiveness for that. This, don't pick that up. This was a plan of the enemy to come to steal, kill, and destroy. I'll deal with that. And I just feel like he's taking like a knotted tumor of a mess is the only way I can see it. And he's just trying to he just wants to come in and he just wants to clean it and separate it so it can be dealt with properly. And it might feel painful, but he just wants to come and be a surgeon today. There's a song that says, my heart needs a surgeon, my my soul needs a friend about Jesus and sometimes we just need that. So I'm just gonna pray that, Lord. If that is speaking to someone in this room, that picture of just a balled up mess of confusion, maybe it's with another person, maybe it's with a job, maybe it's with something that happened to him long long ago or maybe yesterday. Lord, right now, just by a supernatural gift of your holy spirit? With their eyes closed, will you give them a picture from you of how you feel about that mess? Right now, by your spirit, just give them a picture. I know for me each each little tangled part had a label. Maybe you wanna speak to them that way. Maybe there's you're just so unique that you speak to every one of us that it means something that we know only you could know, Holy Spirit. So we just ask that you would come today and that you would just untangle the mess. Maybe some of the tangle is our just blatant repetitive sin and you wanna just say, do you wanna be free from that today? Repent. Repent, ask for forgiveness and turn the other way. Nancy. Well, you just slapped me across the room a couple of times. So The Holy Spirit did. Well, he used you. Okay? My sister was born when I was in the sixth grade. 13 years old. That's not cool because I had been the baby all these years. She comes along and knocks me off my throne. So and to this day, I will say things like, I couldn't stand her. I didn't like her. I have trouble liking her now. You know? And here we sister if you're watching online. Please don't be watching. Pam, I'm sorry. You know? But my words, all those years of saying this, and it's just like, you know, I've told Clay, I mean, what is her problem? You know? Well, maybe I'm the problem. You know, I'm the one that started it. She totally screwed my life. That was my social life. I had to babysit, you know, just everything. And even to this day, we're night and day different. You know? She's all ruffles and lace, I'm not. But my words that I have said all these years are that tangled mess, and maybe I need to ask forgiveness for what I started. She didn't ask to be born. You know? I couldn't help it if I was a social queen. You know? But all that mess Nobody can, Nancy. Nobody can. But all that mess that I created, my with my words, I could be part of the problem, and I could be mending that with her in my way. No. We'll never be the same, but all this resentment, I'll go to my mother and talk about her, you know, and keep it going. So we've got to realize what our words can do for years. There's power of life Absolutely. And the power of our tongue. And I could have look at all the time I could have missed out on building my relationship with her rather than cutting it down. Ask the Lord to forgive you. Oh, Lord. Jesus, you know me like nobody else. Thank you, Lord. Father, forgive me for my words that I've used against Pam. Even though she's done things to make me mad too, Lord. But I need to worry about Nancy. And, God, I ask you to forgive me. I ask you to help us all watch our words, Lord, and realize that what we say can create a mess that will last a lifetime. Father, help us to seek you and just like start our day by asking you to guard our words and guide our path. It's a great prayer. Help us, Lord Jesus, to look to you and not be selfish in our own. And, father, I truly ask you to forgive me, Nancy, today. In Jesus' name. Amen. This is exactly what James five sixteen says. Confess your sins before one another. The prayer of a righteous man is faithful and powerful and effective. Who else? Tim? No. If I could be so bold as to come up. Mhmm. So I feel like sometimes as Christians, we feel like sometimes, like, the standard is to, like, struggle. Like, we're always like for the older people in the room, do you guys remember the Mike Tyson punch out? And, like, you're that real little guy, and Mike Tyson is just huge, and he's just, like, on you. And it's, like, there's everything you could do to get a punch in. And I just wanna encourage everybody, like, we're not the little guy. Right? We have we have the holy spirit, and the norm is actually to reign in life. And if I could just share one verse here. It says, for if because of one's one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life. Reign in life. Yeah. Like, we're having victories. We're having successes through the one man. Only only because of the one man. Right? Jesus Christ. And so, anyway, as I thought about that, I was thinking, you know, if you feel like you're not reigning in life yes. We will have struggles. We will have trials. Right? But if you don't feel like you're reigning in life, then you gotta look at, well, what could I maybe be doing wrong? Jay, could you read that verse I asked you to read? Wait. Is it not on? No. It is. Oh, sorry. That's fine. First Corinthians six nine through 10. Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived, neither the sexually immoral nor adulterers nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who practice homosexuality nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor revelers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. If you don't feel like you're reigning in life, that's a good place to start. Like, we just need to we need to evaluate our lives and be like, are we just, like, blatantly disobeying God in an area of our life? Because you cannot expect to reign in life if you're just blatantly disobeying God. So I just wanna encourage you. Your identity in God is reign in life. You should be having victories. Yes. There's struggles. There's trials. There's troubles. But I feel like most of the Christians that I look up to, they're, like, reigning in life. They have victories. And if you look at yourself as, like, I'm always, the guy getting punched on by Mike Tyson, that's what's gonna happen to you. You know? And if you're like, I can't seem to break through, then you need to take a serious look at like, what is my life like? If you're having issues with pornography, then you should not be expecting to reign in life. If you're having issues with consistent lying, you cannot expect to reign in life. So, yes, we're always gonna have challenges. There's always gonna be maybe some quote like, little or sins we're dealing with. But if but but if these big sins are not addressed in our life, we cannot expect to reign in life. That's good. Yeah. The Bible says that when we see Jesus face to face, we'll be like him and like he don't need to change. He don't need to change. So, Alyssa, when you said, when you prayed for God to put an image in our in our minds with our eyes closed, I got this, like, huge throbbing heart, kinda like the that one care bearer, just, you know, the hearts go out. And when I was seven, somebody told me that it was my fault that my mom and dad were getting a divorce, and I've just always held on to that. And even on her deathbed and, you know, my dad said, you know, she wants you to forgive her. I'm like, I just can't. I can't. And, like, that just came back up today. Like, I I try really hard not to think about it. So, I mean, so what I prayed was I just prayed for God to give me to help me, forgive her, and then at the same time to forgive me for not being able to let go of that hurt. So It's good. Yeah. The big the heart, I just feel like he was trying to tell me that no matter what somebody says, my love for you is so great that it wouldn't matter. That's right. So That's right. We were talking earlier about half this town losing power or whatever. When I said 28,000 people I mean, it's believable. I I don't know. I don't know. Someone said it when they came in. Just Go ahead. So there's a power outage in Jackson, and I couldn't help but think about the church not reigning, having a form of godliness but denying its power, and being completely oblivious to the fact that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is alive in us, but there's something in the way. Who's the lead singer of Nirvana? Kurt Cobain. Oftentimes when I think about that, I think of that song Kurt Cobain sings. There's something in the way. Mhmm. What's in the way today? What's in the way of us walking in the power that he gave us. You know, life and death are in the power of the tongue. What are we speaking even in the secret places, even when nobody's around? What what are we speaking in our head? So I just wanna pray for you guys that we walk in the power. I mean, he gave us the keys of the kingdom, the power to unlock doors and shut doors. Yes. That should not have been opened in the first place. So, I just wanna pray into that for you guys because it's been coming up, Lord. Lord, you created us to be victorious. Like Tim said, You created us to reign in life and not walk around defeated all the time. You created us to move forward and not backwards, to be the head and not the tail. So, father, I pray for your spirit. Holy Spirit, we've welcomed you here. Now we ask that you do your work. Where there is something in the way, we pray that you pluck it out by the roots, god, because we don't want anything in the way between you and us. Where there is a spirit, a root of bitterness that has taken hold. We pray that you uproot that even now, lord. Yeah. Even now, lord. In the name of Jesus, pluck out that root of bitterness that has grown in our hearts. If we have been living with a spirit of condemnation, where we have agreed with the enemy that something is our fault when it clearly was not. We just pray for freedom now, God. Break every chain in this room. Break every chain in this room, Lord. And help every single person within the sound of my voice. Leap like cows calves released from a stall, Lord. Mhmm. And help us walk in the power of your holy spirit. The power of your might, God. New life, I pray for everyone here in Jesus' name. Amen. So good. Sometimes the Lord gives me pictures in like t shirt form like, oh, that should be on a t shirt and then like I see someone. And while you were praying that, Renee, I saw this t shirt that said like, hey, Satan and then a a comment that said, do you know who my dad is? And I was like, made me chuckle for a second. I was like, can you imagine like if we realized like what Tim was saying, like, we're not that little guy? Like, we stand in the shadow of the most high. Like we're his children. Like if we just stood up more and said, do you know who my dad is? To those thoughts, to those like things that get us, you know, those things that nag at our heels and we just sit up and say, I don't have to be tempted by this anymore. You know, that I can defeat this if the very same Jesus who beat death, hell, and the grave lives inside me, then I can beat this addiction. I can beat this pattern not on my own strength but because of who he is. Right? Am I speaking anybody who's been set free from addiction? Like, can't do it on our own strength. It's Jesus that does it through us. Thank goodness he does. Yeah. Colin. I was just gonna say I think that's why all throughout the bible God uses the little guy or the weak guy to overcome like David and the Goliath and, you know, so many examples of the small guy prevailing because maybe we are the small guy but through Christ, we are able to prevail and overcome. That's right. Jay's got something. Yeah. I just wanted to add on to that too because PB and I were praying over somebody this week that's By way, if you call him pastor Brian, some people call him PB. Yeah. Like peanut butter. Yeah. And he was just, like, struggling, he was in the same spot. Like, he was just, like, God, like, take take this away from me. Like, take this cup. And PB had, like, such a cool point. He was, like, hey. Like, you need to partner with him. Like, God's not gonna do it if you just kinda want it. Like, if you're just, like, not doing any of the stuff, not putting any skin in the game to to get traction. Like, it's not just this, like, magic prayer that's gonna, like, solve your your your problem and solve your sin and take that away. Because, I mean, like, God gave us this moral compass of, like, we know when we mess up. Like, we're like the dog that returns to vomit. Like, we keep going back and we're just like, oh, like, like, dang. Like, yeah, it's gross. Like, it sucks. Like, it feels dirty. And it's supposed to feel dirty. Like like, don't get that wrong. Like like, it's supposed to feel wrong, and that's conviction. That's the Holy Spirit telling us that something needs to change. So as long as we're living in submission to that and we're just submitted to our sin and allowing that to be the ruler of our life and we're serving that sin, God's not gonna take that away. He wants you to feel that. And so it's once you decide that you wanna conquer that, that's when God's gonna partner with you. And so, like, I love the word that Tim shared. Like, in order to walk in that power, like, we need to make that decision. Like, k. I'm gonna I'm gonna partner with you, God. Break these chains. I'm done with it. Set me free. And I'm gonna do whatever I can in my power so that I can unlock your power to get rid of it and be done with it. Mhmm. And if you don't know what that thing is that necessarily needs to be broken off, I mean, you probably do, like the steps. You know the thing that needs to be broken off but you don't know the steps? Ask him. He'll show you. You know, like, there was a while where I was having bad dreams and I was like, Lord, take these dreams, take these dreams, take these bad dreams. And he was like, why don't you stop watching that show? And I didn't think the show wasn't I mean, it wasn't like a bad show. It wasn't, you know, against the Lord or anything. It wasn't dark but there was something in that show that was creating some weird doubt in me. We had a teenager in the show and the teenager was super rebellious and all this terrible stuff was happening in the teenager and I have two teenagers and then I was having terrible dreams and Lord was like, first of all, stop meditating on that. And I was like, okay. Sure enough, the moment I was just and I you know what? The next day I went to like, well, gonna watch my show. And I had to physically say, I am not watching this show anymore. You know, and it and it was just like that act of like, Lord, you said to do this. There's a there's a part that I needed to do, you know, and he's just so faithful because he knows it's not good for us. It's why it feels gross. It's why he wants it out of there. Let's if you have your bible with you, we're just gonna stay in this attitude and we're just gonna read this scripture. Joy, will you read for us? What which one did I ask you to read? Luke or Matthew 11. Okay. So in Matthew and I think it's Matthew it's Luke eleven two through. Okay. I was wondering because it wasn't prayer related. Did I type it wrong to you? That's the one I intended. Thank you. Okay. Luke eleven one through 10. Now Jesus was praying in a certain place. And when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray as John taught all his disciples. And he said to them, when you pray, say, Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us and lead us not into temptation. And he said to them, which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say Can I listen to this story? I think it's so interesting. Go ahead. Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, friend, lend me three loaves for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey and I have nothing to set before him. And he will answer from within, do not bother me. The door is now shut and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything. I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is a friend, yet because of his impudence, he will rise and give him whatever he needs. And I will tell you, ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives and the one who seeks finds and to the one who knocks it will be opened. When you're reading, did somebody have a little bit different version that said something a little bit different? Thank you, Joy. I just had the one one word was different. Yours said, yet because of his impudence. Yeah. Mine says because of his persistence. Then I have What does your version say? Yeah. I've got one that says import importunity. I've got persistence and importunity. Shameless persistence. So this is Jesus telling a story about how should we pray Jesus and he tells that story to his disciples. Like, it just the other day when I was reading that, that just stood out to me like, I think that sometimes it's a both end. We don't wanna like continue to come to God and like, God, please please please please, but at the same time this story is like, he's knocking on a friend's door in the middle of the night and and Jesus says, just keep knocking. Keep knocking and keep asking because the heart is right. He wants to provide a meal for his friends. I think that's a really important part of the story. He's not coming to be selfish. He's not coming. But he's coming because, you know, he had friends show up and he needs something to feed him and in that day that was, you know, huge to break bread together. But what did yours say, Colin? Persistence to ask the Lord for what we need. It says don't quit knocking. Don't quit knocking. What's your savior name? Shameless audacity. Oh. I love that. I'm gonna get Nancy a t shirt that says shameless audacity. I love it. Christian, will you throw Matthew so there's another part in the gospels where they ask Jesus where, you know, how should we pray? Will someone just read that off the screen? Maybe Gretchen, you you can just read it if you want to. Pray like this. Our father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need and forgive us our sins as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. What stands out to you in that? May your kingdom come soon. Because it I think we all grew up learning it. May your kingdom come, your will be done, which is also beautiful. Like, Lord, I wanna pray in in accordance with your will, but may your kingdom come soon. And this is Jesus saying how to pray. Like he was already on the earth when he said that. It's just interesting to me because going back to that Luke story, if I texted any one of y'all in this room and was like, can I first of all, would be like, hey, if it's not like too much trouble, do you think it would be at all possible maybe like if I don't wanna bother you but like and I can do whatever you need and like, can I borrow some sugar? At 3AM? Yeah. First of all, it would not ever be at 3AM even if I desperately needed it. But then, like, if any of you were like, no, I'd be like, okay. No problem there. I might not just sit here. And I just hope and pray that, like because I know that I can pray like that too. And so and like that's not how he wants us to pray. He wants us to pray like this. You know, he wants us to stand in his promises. And for our will to be in alignment with his, you know, like we like the guy was it was like you said, his heart was good. He was doing it for a good reason. So like we have to have our heart in alignment but like we need to know that we can go to him, that he will provide, that if we seek it will be given to us, and that we stand in that promise. So even if we don't get it immediately, that instant gratification, right? Like if we don't get it immediately that we keep asking, we keep knocking. Yeah. So good. So what I wanna do just really quickly is let's just take that first line, our father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let's just sit with that for just thirty seconds. Father, through our actions, through our words, through our lives, through honoring the gathering of the saints, in honoring rest in the things that you said to do Lord. May your name be kept holy in our hearts that we wouldn't water it down, that we would remember that you are a mighty mighty God. Anybody else wanna pray into that first? Think about the angels around the throne seeing the face of God and all they can sing is holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. Forgive us Lord where we've brought you down and made you common or thought your ways were somehow like our ways. Maybe there's some people in this room that need to repent of using the Lord's name in vain. And what that means is using the name of God, using the name of Jesus for anything other than worship or referring to him God Almighty. Forgive us Lord. If there's anyone in this room that slips up and says that Lord, I pray that the next time that would slip out of our mouth you would just convict them. That name is holy in the world and the enemy would love to make it common and almost even make it dirty because there's power in that name. I'll pray into it. Lord, I just thank you that it says, our father, how personal that beginning is, the the familial father protector provider that we corporately have access to you as our father, that that does not exclude and say, the super Christian's father or the one who does everything perfectly's father, but it's our father. Thank you, Lord, that you are our God and our Father, and that we can come to you as our Father in heaven. And we do pray that your name be kept holy through our words, through our actions, through our choices. And I just pray, Lord, that if there's anyone here who has kept you at a distance because for whatever reason they don't feel worthy of calling on you as a father, I just pray, Lord, now that as they as we've been talking about confess their sins, as they partner with you, that perhaps this is the first time that they also allow you to love them as a father. I pray for the courage and the strength to look to you as a father, to trust you as a father, even if their own fathers here on earth have not proven trustworthy. Lord, restore their understanding of father through your relationship with them in Jesus' name. So good. May your kingdom come soon. Who wants to pray into that? I do. Lord, you know that most days when I have to deal with stuff, I just say, can't you just come back, Jesus, today? Today, right now. But, Lord, your word says that there's a lot of stuff that's gonna happen before your kingdom comes back, before you come back and that you rule and reign here on the earth. Lord, get us ready. We've been talking about that at Tribe. Lord, get your bride ready for your kingdom to come soon. Let your kingdom come in each and every one of us. Refine us and get us ready for your return. Don't let us live just for salvation. Let us live for your return. In Jesus name, amen. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Who wants to pray into that? Lord, I just thank you that we don't have to wait until heaven to experience heaven. We don't have to wait till we die to experience heaven. That we can have ex that experience of your supernatural world here on earth. We call heaven down. Thank you that there's no sorrow on earth that heaven can't heal. We just release your kingdom on earth right now. Yes. In Jesus' name. In Jesus' name. Give us today the food we need and forgive us our sins as we have forgiven those who sin against us. Nancy. It's me again, Lord. Lord Jesus, thank you, father, that we can come to your throne, Lord, and ask forgiveness, God. We don't have to go to a priest. We don't have to go to another person walking this earth, Lord. We can come right to you, Lord God, and lay our sins down at your feet, Father. Forgive us, Lord Jesus, for disappointing you because we do it daily, God. Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you are there, and your grace and your mercy are all we need, Lord. Thank you for loving us and forgiving us, God. Please continue to convict us, God. Yeah. When we have done wrong, Lord, but let us follow through and know and do what we know we need to do, Lord. Help us to push our pride aside. And, Lord God, no matter how long that sin may have been being dragged along, Lord Jesus, thank you, Father, that it's never too late with you. Lord Jesus, I love you, and I thank you, and I ask your hand to be on every person in this room. And let us all walk out of here today, lord Jesus, feeling a little fresher in you, god. In Jesus name, amen. Here's a good one that Jay was saying and Tim touched on and don't let us yield to temptation. I love that it says don't let us. Like, there's a responsibility there. Lord, don't let us yield to temptation but rescue us from the evil one. And the Bible says that there's no temptation that has seized you except that which is common to man. Like the enemy just knows human weakness. Like I don't mean this in a mean way but you ain't special when he comes at you. Like, he's just a dirty devil coming at you and there and it's common to man. The enemy would like you to feel like you're the only one who's ever struggled with that. Like, hide that, keep that a secret. And it's we just need to call out the enemy for his attacks but we stand against him and don't let us yield to temptation but rescue us from the evil one. Gretchen, will you pray into that for us? Father God, we just ask that you help us to overcome all the temptations of this world. There's so, so many that we could give into, so many that have been normalized, that are just a part of our daily lives that we might not even notice or see. And so just give us your heart to know where those temptations might be that we don't even see, where we might be weaker in certain areas. We know that Jesus, you were tempted for forty days, and if you can be tempted, we will definitely be tempted. But because you gave us the example of how to resist those temptations, we can as well. And we just ask you that you give us your words to overcome those temptations and that you give us the strength and the knowledge to know that the evil one has no power over us. You are the only power that it has authority over any of us. We love you. Amen. Amen. Jay, will you come lead us in communion, please? Something I've been thinking about in terms of communion was the movie Braveheart, if you guys have ever seen that. Basically, the movie ends with the scene of the hero being tortured. It's kinda like a crucifixion kinda scene. And the person leading the torturing says that it can stop at any moment when the hero yields and kisses the signet ring of the king and basically just submits to that. And through it, it just keeps getting worse and worse and worse, and he keeps presenting the offer. And the the hero signals that he, like, is gonna speak. And so the guy's, like, really ready to, like, let him kiss the ring and submit to it. And he just yells out, freedom. With just like this last, like, blood curling, like, scream. And throughout the gospels, it talks about Jesus doing something similar. It says how he lets out this last cry before he yields up his spirit. In Luke, it says that he says, it is finished. And that's that same cry saying, freedom. He's he's joining the father. He's breaking the chains of sin and death for all of us. And so as we take communion today, I'd really invite you guys to join in that cry as you as you eat the body and drink the blood. Remember that. Experience that freedom, that that lifting of of of victory of him saying, it is finished. Everything else is done. It's it's past me. So according to the gospels, while Jesus and his disciples were eating, Jesus took the bread and gave thanks and broke it and gave to gave it to his disciples saying, take and eat this. This is my body broken for you. And then he took the cup. He gave thanks and offered it to them saying, drink from it all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for you, for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my father's kingdom. Father, I just ask that you make this communion special, that we don't waste this opportunity to remember, to remember the freedom that you gave us on that cross, the suffering that you went through for us, the glorious victory that you had there that enables us to walk in freedom, eager and longing to join you in heaven, Lord. We thank you and we praise you. Amen. Clay, if you wanna come up and hold the cup with me. Can we take the mic? Our communion at Tribe is open to anyone who calls on the name of the Lord to be saved. Let us never take that lightly. Let us never take the power in the name of Jesus for granted. And as we spend time in your presence, let just the authority of who you are rise up in us. So as we just remain in this attitude of worship, the Lord is so faithful and so good because some of the things we had planned even for today, you kind of did them naturally before we even did it. And, you know, praying for each other is is very important, and the Bible is clear on how we do that. But, Leah, you did that so beautifully. And, as we just stay in this attitude of worship, and some of us are like, oh, I'm ready to go home. And some of us are oh, just keep going. I could stay here all day. But I wanna tell you something in love. No matter how you feel, feelings have their place, but they're horrible leaders. Fantastic backseat. Horrible in the driver's seat. So I just wanna encourage you, don't let how you feel dictate how you spend time with the Lord. Do it anyway. We see it in his word, praying, intercessing, praying for others, and all of that. And then another thing we see is bringing our tithe and our offering to the Lord. Whether you feel like it or not, whether you feel like you can or not, it's something that the Lord has asked us to do to give to your local church. If tribe isn't your local church, then don't give here. But we're just encouraging you to give to your local church. It is one way that the Lord lets us be a part of what he's doing and how he's moving in his kingdom. And so here at Tribe, we have a few ways that we give via cash or check, can do that downstairs in that little black box. Right outside the door, if you, go to our website, tribejh.com, there's a place there. And then the instructions you see on your screen is another way to do it. It's the easiest. So as we think about that today, let's just stay in an attitude of worship as we pray over our tithe and our offering. So close your eyes if you would please. Heavenly Father, we just come to you as a tribe family this morning. We come to you individually, and we come to you corporately right now, and and just say thank you for letting us be a part of how you're moving and how you're working in the earth. And you don't need US dollars, but you allow us to be a part of what you're doing. And this is a way that we talking about, we're just saying about surrendering. This is one way that we can show discipline and surrender and obedience to you in the area of of our finances because it's a challenge for many of us. And if we can't do it, just be honest, Lord, if we can't do it in in our money, the hard stuff you might ask us later, we won't have that muscle memory to to say yes and obey whether we feel like we can or not. So, Lord, forgive us when we have not listened to you in that area, and we just ask for your, forgiveness as we move forward. But, Lord, thank you that we get to bring a portion of our hard earned finances to you whether it makes sense in our natural mind or not, and say, Lord, use this and do what only you can do. And so we thank you for that, Father. In Jesus' name, we'll say, amen. Just a few quick things and we will get out of here right behind Gretchen on the fridge there. So what we're gonna do is collect money for food and just send one big check over to them so they can go to their local grocery store over at Wind River and just purchase stuff. So sometimes we'll we'll take it over and we'll serve with our own hands, but this time, we're just gonna collect money. So you'll get a text, either today or tomorrow with a little link of how you can give money specifically towards Wind River Food Collection if that's something that the Lord has put on your heart. And if you're like, oh, I don't even have money for food for me. It's like a tithe. You're giving, and the Lord just does something supernatural when you give. Even 5 or $10 can get five or 10 cans of food. So don't think any amount you give to that is too small. And then the last thing is just also with Wind River. There's a vacation bible school that's taking place this summer where we will load up on our tri bus in June and head over there. So if you're interested in that, stay tuned for more details. Thank you for your sweet and tender holy spirit and how he's meeting each one of us in our heart today. And, Lord, I thank you for the the things that came to our mind today during worship and prayer and communion that aren't very comfortable, like Jay said. We thank you for those actually because that shows us in the spotlight what we need to deal with with you, what we need to work through. And so, I just thank you that your word says when sin is brought into the light, it it can be no more. When it is exposed to the light of the love of Jesus, it can be no more. So we surrender our hearts to you, father, in every area, and we just say thank you for who you are and your character. Thank you that you have called us to be people of prayer. We see in the Bible where Paul is praying for people all the time. Jesus is praying for people all the time. Let us not diminish the power that is prayer that's in alignment with your will and your word. It is powerful and effective is what James says. Thank you so much for how you move and how you operate.
