At Tribe, the teaching on the banner of love starts with a simple but searching question: what banner is actually flying over your life? Working through Isaiah 62:10-12, Pastor Brian traced the image of a banner through the passage and into the congregation's present moment, connecting it to what is unfolding in Israel and to what each person is living under day to day. The banner God raises is not a vague sentiment. It is a declaration of ownership and identity, the same reality behind the line the room returned to together: "His banner over me is love."
The teaching pressed past comfort into accountability. Brian drew out the phrase "prepare the highway for my people to return" as a command the congregation is meant to take hold of, not simply observe. A voice from the room connected it to Isaiah 35:8-10 and named the honest obstacle plainly: the boulders in the road are often us, our own hypocrisy and unresolved sin blocking the path for others. Brian reinforced how seriously God takes the moral order underneath all of this, saying, "You can deny God's moral law all that you want, and it's the same as saying that you don't believe in gravity and step off the edge of a high building."
The message grounded all of it in something concrete. The congregation watched a video of Ali, a young woman baptized in the Snake River on October 31, publicly renouncing years in occult practice and returning to the Lord. Her story stood as living evidence that the highway is real, that the banner of love draws people home, and that the church's call is to go out through the gates and make the road passable for the next person coming.
