What does Tribe teach about being set apart?

From 1 Thessalonians 4:7, Brian slowed down two words that are easy to read past: 'called' and 'holy.' In the Greek, holiness carries the sense of being consecrated, purified, set apart and dedicated entirely to the Lord. To make it tangible, Brian held up two identical batteries and separated one from the other. Nothing about either battery changed in that moment. The point is that being set apart is not about becoming a different kind of person by nature; it is about being moved from the common and dedicated to God's use. Romans 6:12-14 runs the same contrast, and Brian made it visible by color-coding the passage so the choice Paul is describing could be seen plainly.
Brian also taught from 2 Timothy 2:20-21, where Paul pictures utensils in a wealthy home, some of gold and silver for special occasions, some of wood and clay for everyday use. A fork cannot change what it is made of, but a person can, because Jesus makes someone a new creation. Brian noted that one of the enemy's steadiest strategies is to use past failures to convince people they have already disqualified themselves from being a vessel set apart for honorable use. The word 'called' in 1 Thessalonians 4:7 also carries the sense of an invitation, and the teaching in Luke 14 picks that up directly: holiness is not a demand issued from a distance but an invitation that God also equips people to accept.
