What does Tribe teach about biblical covenant?

Drawn from the message where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At Tribe, the teaching on biblical covenant starts with the conviction that God's commitment to Israel is not a minor thread in scripture but one of its great recurring subjects. Pastor Brian has pointed out that Israel appears in the Bible roughly 3,500 times, far more than evangelism, forgiveness, prayer, or even marriage, and that a church serious about majoring on the majors cannot treat it as a specialty topic. The series called "Unbreakable" is the most direct Tribe has been about it, framing God's covenant with Israel not as a political statement but as a theological one with political implications.

Brian grounds the teaching in specific texts. Isaiah 49:16 shows God telling Israel he has written her name on the palms of his hands and that Jerusalem is always before him. Brian was careful to note that while the verse speaks to believers, the text is addressing Israel first, and Protestant preaching often skips past that to reach personal application. Jeremiah 31:35-37 goes further, using the language of measuring the heavens and exploring the depths of the earth as the only conditions under which God would consider casting Israel off. The point is that those conditions are never met, making the covenant effectively unbreakable.

Brian has placed this subject in a larger historical frame, describing it as this generation's defining fork in the road, the way earlier generations faced defining questions about the divinity of Christ, the authority of scripture, or the person of the Holy Spirit. He was direct that getting it wrong historically and predictably leads toward antisemitism. The teaching is an invitation for the congregation to sit with the subject openly rather than dismiss it.
