That fact is not treated as a talking point but as the hinge on which everything else turns. The resurrection of Jesus is what separates Christianity from the rest, and Brian argues it answers something hardwired in people, a sense that a relationship with God exists and has been broken.
From there, the teaching presses on what that break actually costs and why no religion built on human effort can fix it. Using a brownie recipe ruined by one bad ingredient, Brian illustrated why moral self-improvement cannot produce the standing with God that people are reaching for. The standard is not being better than the next person; it is sinlessness, and one broken law is enough to fall short. Every religion that asks people to earn their way up to God runs into that wall. Christianity's answer, Brian says, is the opposite move: "Instead of man trying to climb up to God, God became a man and came down to us." Jesus lived the sinless life, absorbed the punishment that broken law demands, and because he was sinless, the law had no legal claim to hold him in the grave.
But the teaching does not stop at forgiveness or a future hope. Because Jesus rose and is alive, his Spirit is available to take up residence inside a person. The offer is not a better version of yourself or a perfect example to imitate. As Brian puts it, "Jesus stands ready not for you to try to live a life like Jesus does, but for you to lay down your life, so that Jesus can live his life through you." That, at Tribe, is what makes Christianity something other than another religion asking people to climb.
