What does Tribe teach about church home?

At Tribe, the question of church home is taken seriously and handled honestly. In the message from December 2025, trustee Bob walked the congregation through the full story of how Tribe got its current building, from a season of having almost nothing in the bank, to receiving an unexpected down payment from a summer visitor named Mark who had been told he had a terminal diagnosis and wanted to give his money away before he died. Mark died a few weeks before that Sunday. The building that his generosity made possible has mattered deeply to the church, and the board does not take that lightly.
At the same time, the leadership has been candid that the current space was never designed for worship, that it carries real safety concerns, and that the church has outgrown it. The plan moving forward is to sell the building, run a capital campaign in spring 2026, find interim worship space, and eventually purchase land to build something purpose-built for the community.
Through all of it, Bob told the congregation plainly that the board is committed to keeping everything that makes Tribe what it is, including the Tuesday night worship service and the ministries the church supports. The physical building is not what defines the home; the people, the worship, and the shared life together are.

34 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of tents for seven days to Yahweh.
35 On the first day shall be a holy convocation: you shall do no regular work.
