What does Tribe teach about coronation?

At Tribe, the teaching on the coronation of a king begins with the coronation of King Charles III and works outward from there. Brian used the ceremony at Westminster Abbey as a scaffold, walking through the throne, the Stone of Destiny, the anointing, and the scepter, not to celebrate the earthly event but to show how completely it is outclassed by what Scripture says about Jesus as king. Every element of the ceremony had a biblical counterpart, and in every case the comparison ran only one direction.
The throne Charles sat on is over seven hundred years old, scratched with graffiti and worn from centuries of use. The throne Brian pointed to in Isaiah 6 and Revelation 4 is one so vast that the train of God's robe fills the entire temple, and John can only describe what he sees in terms of gemstones because his vocabulary runs out. The anointing oil poured on Charles was olive oil. The anointing on Jesus in Isaiah 61 is the Spirit of the sovereign Lord himself, and it comes with a mission: good news for the poor, freedom for captives, and comfort for those who mourn. Brian's point was plain: what looks impressive on earth barely hints at the real thing.
What set Jesus apart most clearly, Brian said, was not ceremony or spectacle but what he actually did. Earthly kings receive a crown as a symbol of honor and authority. Brian said, "Jesus wore a crown, but it was made of brambles, briars, and thorns, and it was thrust upon his head." And where an earthly king's authority is largely symbolic and bounded by geography, Brian noted that "his territory now exists in places that no earthly king could ever exert their influence, and that's within the human heart." The question he kept returning to was a simple one: "What did our king do for us? He laid down his life for us."
