What does Tribe teach about dreams and visions?

Drawn from the message where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At Tribe, the teaching on dreams and visions sits inside a broader conversation about hearing God's voice. Pastor Brian frames that conversation around a word he is deliberate about: skill. A gift, he explains, can feel like something only certain people receive, but a skill is something anyone can develop and keep improving. That framing matters because it opens the door for every person in the room, not just the spiritually gifted few, to expect that God is actually trying to communicate with them.

The foundation underneath all of it is the conviction that God genuinely wants to be heard. Before the main teaching began, a speaker opened from Song of Solomon chapter two and read the young man's words to his beloved as an allegory for how Jesus feels toward every person: "Let me see your face. Let me hear your voice, for your voice is pleasant and your face is lovely." Brian says, "Jesus is madly in love with us and the deepest desire of His heart is to see our face and to hear our voice." The gap between how people feel about themselves and that reality, the teaching suggests, closes through encounter and revelation, not just information.

The messages also anchor God's peace as a practical tool for testing what someone believes they are hearing. Drawing from Colossians 3:15, Brian used the image of an umpire: peace does not have feelings about a pitch, it simply calls it. That peace either rests on a decision or it does not. Congregation members filled that out with their own stories, grounding the teaching in lived experience rather than theory.
