What does Tribe teach about eternal rewards?

At Tribe, the teaching on eternal rewards starts with a single word in 2 John 1:8. Brian pointed out that John did not just say 'reward' but 'full reward,' and that the Greek behind the word means wages proportional to work done. That framing matters because it implies a reward can also be partial, or missed altogether, depending on how a person lived. The series called 'Full Reward' was built on that premise: what happens after death is not just a binary of heaven or hell for Christians, it is also an accounting.
For those who are in Christ, Brian taught that a separate judgment waits, one the Bible calls the bema seat. He drew the picture from 1 Corinthians 3, where two kinds of building materials, gold, silver and jewels on one side, and wood, hay and straw on the other, are tested by fire. The fire does not determine salvation. It reveals what was built, and what survives is rewarded. Brian connected that fire to the eyes of Jesus in Revelation, burning like fire, and argued that nothing about a person's motives or deeds can be hidden at that moment. God opens two books: what He had written and assigned for that person's life, and how the person actually lived.
The practical weight of this teaching landed on how a person builds now. Brian drew a distinction between dead works, things sourced in self-effort no matter how noble they look, and living works rooted in obedience to God. Using the letter to Laodicea in Revelation 3, he pressed on Jesus's counsel to buy gold from Him, gold refined by fire. That gold, Brian taught, costs nothing in money but is not free. It comes through lives laid down in intimacy with God and obedience without reserve. Isaiah 55 gave the congregation the open invitation underneath all of it: anyone thirsty, even those with nothing to offer, is called to come.
