The point was not to dramatize the difficulty but to make it recognizable. Real faith does not get to begin from a clean, simple situation. It begins from something that looks more like a rack of climbing gear with everything hanging off it at once.
What Brian drew from that picture is that clarity in the middle of complexity does not come from waiting for more information or a clearer word from God. It comes from plain obedience to what God has already said. The teaching leaned on a simple claim: Brian says, "Your faith releases his grace." That means even a small, imperfect step of obedience is what opens the door for God to move, not a perfect understanding of how everything will resolve.
Brian also pointed to Exodus six, where God gives Moses a long list of things God himself will do. The temptation in a hard season is to absorb those responsibilities, to spend energy on the how when the how belongs to God. The corrective the teaching offered was equally direct: Brian says, "It is your fear of him that will keep you close beside him." What is needed is not a louder revelation but the fear of the Lord, which keeps a person walking with God through the confusion rather than spinning out in it.
