What does Tribe teach about faithful under persecution?

Drawn from the message where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At Tribe, the teaching on faithful endurance under persecution is anchored in Revelation 2:10, where Jesus promises the crown of life to those who remain faithful even when facing death. Brian worked through this passage not as an abstract promise but as a living question the congregation was sitting with together, asking plainly how it applied to Charlie Kirk, whose murder was still fresh in the room. The answers that came back from the congregation pointed in the same direction: faithfulness is measured by whether a person preached Jesus and kept going, and the crown of life is the promise waiting on the other side of that cost.

Brian connected that promise to a broader picture of what reward means in Scripture. The crown is not a jeweled symbol of status but the laurel wreath placed on a winner at the ancient games, the image of someone who competed, endured, and finished. That image appears across several New Testament passages Brian taught from, including James 1:12 and 2 Timothy 4:8, and in each one the crown belongs to those who held on under pressure rather than those who avoided it.

The thread running through the whole conversation was the question of what faithfulness looks like when the cost is real. The congregation reflected that Kirk's life and death raised that question sharply, and that Revelation 2:10 speaks with particular weight to those left behind, his wife, his children, the people who now carry his example forward. The teaching at Tribe is that the promise of the crown of life is not softened by suffering. It is confirmed by it.
