The effort is real, but it cannot satisfy what is actually missing.

Brian drew a parallel to Moses at the burning bush, where God also did not force the moment but waited to see whether Moses would turn aside. When Jesus then questions Peter three times, he calls him Simon, his birth name, rather than Peter. Brian said that had an edge to it: Jesus was asking whether Peter was going to stay lost in his old identity or step into the one Jesus had spoken over him. The teaching at Tribe holds that this is still how God addresses people who have lost their footing, speaking purpose and identity directly over them, and that the invitation, though quiet, is real and worth turning toward.
