What does Tribe teach about jesus exclusive?

At Tribe, the teaching on this starts with the most contested thing Jesus ever said: 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' Brian Hunter opened by asking the congregation directly why those words would get Jesus canceled, and the answers people called out from the park set up the tension he wanted to work through. Every religion humans have invented, Brian said, asks people to climb their own way up to God. Jesus says that climb is impossible, and he has already done something about it. The exclusivity is real, but so is the clarity of the invitation. Brian drew a contrast with the IRS, which tells you that you owe without telling you exactly what you owe. God is nothing like that. Jesus does not leave people guessing.
Brian worked through Ephesians 2 and Romans 10 by asking the congregation to call out whether each phrase was inclusive or exclusive. His point was that the two things are not in contradiction. 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved' is as wide open as language allows, but there is only one name. The offer is thrown open wide. The door is only one door. As Brian put it, 'there are a million ways to Jesus, and there's only one way to God, and that is through his son.'
He brought it together with James 4:6: 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.' Brian described pride as a door that stays locked and humility as the key that opens it. In his words, 'humility is the key that unlocks the doors of God's grace.' The inside of that door, once it opens, reads all are welcome. The mechanism of salvation is radically inclusive precisely because God did the hard work, the gift is not earned, and no one is disqualified by their past.
