What does Tribe teach about jesus fulfills feasts?

At Tribe, the teaching on Jesus fulfilling the feasts starts with the Feast of First Fruits, the spring feast that often gets passed over between Passover and Pentecost. Brian Hunter has walked the congregation through Deuteronomy 26 and Leviticus 23 together, drawing out what the ancient observance actually required: the very first of the harvest, brought to the priest at the temple the same day it was cut, lifted up before the Lord without delay. The whole ritual was designed to make the person stop and credit God before enjoying anything.
From those texts, Brian moved to John 20 and Mary's encounter with Jesus in the garden on resurrection morning. The moment Jesus tells Mary not to hold onto him because he has not yet ascended to the Father is, in Brian's reading, the key to understanding the feast. Jesus is presenting himself to the Father as the first of the harvest before anyone else can receive what his resurrection makes possible. Brian drew a careful distinction between resuscitation, what happened to Lazarus, who came back in the same body he died in, and resurrection, what happened to Jesus, who received what Brian called an upgraded earth suit. First Corinthians 15 makes the order plain: Christ first, then all who belong to Christ when he returns. Brian says, "Jesus is the first of a great harvest of all who have died."
The conclusion Brian kept returning to is that the resurrection of Jesus is not a standalone miracle but a guarantee of what is coming for everyone who belongs to him. Brian says, "The resurrection of Jesus gives us great confidence that nothing less than total victory is our destiny." That confidence holds regardless of personal history. As Brian put it, "It does not matter where you've been. It doesn't matter how much you have blown it." Resurrection life, in this teaching, is the certain future of every believer.
