What does Tribe teach about jesus returns?

At Tribe, the teaching on the return of Jesus starts with honesty about the anxiety these passages can stir up. Pastor Brian has watched people in the Tribe family avoid Daniel, Revelation, and Matthew 24 altogether because the subject kept them up at night. His response is not to soften the topic but to press into it, arguing that a well-grounded, biblically rooted understanding of what Jesus himself said about his return is what actually replaces fear with confidence and even eagerness. The framing is that of a good parent preparing a child for what is coming, so nothing blindsides them.
In the 2024 series, Brian walked the congregation through Matthew 24:1-43 and organized what Jesus describes into phases, beginning with what Jesus calls birth pains, wars, rumors of wars, false messiahs, famines, and earthquakes, before moving toward the events closer to his actual return. He was careful not to let the familiarity of those signs become an excuse for disengagement. Brian put it plainly: "The enemy would love to lull us into complacency with this verse right here by saying, don't worry your pretty little head about it." The point was that clarity about what is coming is meant to produce alertness and active faith, not passivity.
The 2022 message added another layer, drawing on Habakkuk 3 and a mosaic of prophetic passages to show that God's pattern is to answer cries of distress not by fixing present circumstances but by giving a picture of what is coming. Communion was framed as a practice that holds both moments at once, looking back to the Passover and forward to the wedding supper of the Lamb. Running through both messages is the conviction that Jesus's return is not a threat to those who belong to him. Brian put it this way: "He couldn't love you anymore than he already does, and his love is so great that not even the forces of hell could prevent him from coming back for you."
