At Tribe, the teaching on Jesus vibes starts with a single Greek word. To make the point land, Brian walked through a vocabulary of sound: frequency, resonance, sympathetic resonance, and harmonic resonance. Emily brought her cello up and played each concept out so the room could hear and feel the difference between a bow drawn across a wooden stool and one drawn across an instrument built to resonate. Those terms then became a lens for reading scripture. John 10:27, Galatians 5:25, and 2 Corinthians 3:18 were all heard as descriptions of a person being gradually retuned to the frequency of Jesus, who never changes. The disciples on the road to Emmaus in Luke 24 became the picture of what it looks like when that resonance has been building: their hearts burning within them because they had been in close contact with him.
