What does Tribe teach about only way to god?

At Tribe, the teaching on this topic starts with the most contested thing Jesus ever said: 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' Brian Hunter opened both messages by asking the congregation directly why those words would get Jesus canceled, then and now. The answer he kept returning to is that Jesus is being exclusive, and that exclusivity cuts against almost everything our culture wants to believe, whether that is the 'all roads lead to God' assumption, the idea that being a good person is enough, or the view that God does not exist at all. Brian's point was not to soften the claim but to take it seriously. Every religion humans have invented asks people to climb their way up to God. Jesus says that climb is impossible and that he has already done something about it.
The teaching held the exclusive and the inclusive together without collapsing either one. Working through Ephesians 2 and Romans 10, Brian walked the congregation through what the offer actually looks like: saved by grace through faith, not by works, so no one can boast, and open to everyone who calls on the name of the Lord. The scope of the invitation is as wide as language allows. The door, though, is one door. Brian compared Jesus to the IRS in reverse: the IRS tells you that you owe without telling you exactly what you owe or how to pay it. God is nothing like that. Jesus tells you exactly what the answer is and has already paid it. As Brian puts it, 'There are a million ways to Jesus, and there's only one way to God, and that is through his son.'
Brian pulled the whole argument together with James 4:6, which he attributed to James, the brother of Jesus: 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.' He described pride as a door that stays locked from the inside and humility as the thing that opens it. Brian says, 'Humility is the key that unlocks the doors of God's grace.' The exclusivity of the gospel, in this teaching, is not a wall built to keep people out. It is a specific address, given clearly, with the cost already covered.
