What does Tribe teach about ruling with jesus?

At Tribe, the teaching on ruling with Jesus begins with a very concrete claim: the reward Jesus describes in the parable of the talents, authority over ten cities, is not a metaphor for a spiritual prize. It is a window into what the new assignment actually looks like when Jesus returns. Brian Hunter has pressed the room to read the Lord's Prayer the same way, taking 'your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven' as a literal prayer for a real, physical, governmental reign of God to be established on planet Earth, with Jesus as its head and his people seated alongside him with genuine authority.
Brian roots this in a pre-millennial reading of Revelation 20, which he calls a scenic overlook rather than a full climb. Tribe's position is that the thousand-year reign described there is still ahead, mostly, he has said, because Jesus has not come back yet and cannot be ruling physically if he has not returned. That future reign is not retirement or a spiritual consolation. It is governmental in the fullest sense, with believers involved in renewing the earth, ruling under Jesus, and eventually participating in the judging of angels. Isaiah 11's picture of the coming kingdom, wolves lying with lambs, a child at a cobra's den, is treated as a coming literal reality, not a spiritualized image, describing the day Jesus governs the nations by righteousness and meekness rather than by the ruthlessness that currently marks how nations operate.
What has come through just as clearly in these messages is the connection between that future assignment and how believers live right now. The training for that reign happens in the present, through faithfulness, obedience, and learning to fight battles the way Brian describes: not by force but by laying down your life. The tension between meekness and courage, between planting a flag and knowing when to wait, is not resolved neatly. Brian describes three things that need to converge before standing on a piece of ground is worth the cost: personal conviction, clear biblical standards, and specific direction from the Holy Spirit. Any one of those on its own can lead to harm. When all three line up, that is territory worth holding.
