What does Tribe teach about tribulation?

At Tribe, the teaching on tribulation starts not with fear but with preparation. Pastor Brian has acknowledged openly that passages touching on the end times and the troubles surrounding them have caused real anxiety for people in the Tribe family. His response to that anxiety is not to soften the passages but to press into them, read carefully, ask hard questions, and build a biblically grounded understanding of what is coming. The goal he keeps returning to is replacing dread with clarity and even eagerness, the same way a good parent prepares a child for hard things so the child is not blindsided when they arrive.

In the series walking through Matthew 24, Brian organized the troubles Jesus describes into phases, beginning with what Jesus himself calls birth pains, and he was careful to hold the literal and broader meaning of those signs in tension. He pushed back against any reading that turns the topic into background noise, warning that the enemy would love to use a single verse to produce complacency. At the same time, he grounded the congregation's posture in the character of God rather than in circumstances, saying that God's love for his people is so great that not even the forces of hell could prevent Jesus from coming back for them.

Brian connected the blood on the doorpost in Exodus 12 to a picture of God not merely shielding his people from the outside but filling them from within, a distinction that shapes how the congregation is meant to face hard seasons. The congregation's expectation, as Brian put it, is not one of hiding but of advancing: "We will not be hiding under rocks and in caves and in bunkers with our gold and green beans and guns. The gospel will be advancing."
