What does Tribe teach about trusting god with money?

At Tribe, the teaching on money and trusting God is grounded in remembering what God has actually done, not as a sentimental exercise but as something with real weight in the present. Brian Hunter opened that door through Psalm 78, where the warriors of Ephraim turned back in battle not because they lacked weapons but because they forgot. The same logic applies to financial fear: when you forget what God has done, you retreat even when you are fully equipped. Remembering, Brian said, is not nostalgia. It is armament.

The story Brian told to make this concrete came from 2007, when he and Lissa moved their young family from Alpine to Tulsa for school with very little margin. One month they were $750 short with no way to cover it. A tropical bird showed up at their door, and the reward turned out to be, as Brian put it, "the exact amount that we were short that month." The point was not that God always solves a money problem with a bird. The point was the same one carried through the Psalm 78 story of water from a rock: the solution God chose was designed to be undeniable, leaving no explanation except God. The faith behind the moment did not even have to be the recipient's own. Moses struck the rock; Israel drank. The paralyzed man's friends carried him; he walked.
