What does Tribe teach about who owns the land?

At Tribe, the teaching on who owns the land starts with three foundation stones laid down before any historical or political conversation begins. Brian Hunter opened by grounding everything in Psalm 24:1, Daniel 4:35, and Leviticus 25:23. The earth belongs to the Lord entirely. He does what he pleases with his own property and answers to no one. And even Israel itself was told in Leviticus that they were only tenant farmers, because the land belongs to God. Pastor Brian pressed the congregation to extend that same logic outward to their homes, their talent, their breath, and their children. Everything is his.
From that foundation, Brian walked through the biblical and modern history of the land using a sequence of maps, tracing the promise God made to Abraham in Genesis 15:18, the tribal allotments under Joshua, the land under Roman rule in Jesus's day, and then the modern period from the Ottoman Empire through the British Mandate, the 1947 UN resolution, the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, the Six Day War of 1967, and the peace negotiations that followed. He noted that Israel did not fully obey the command to displace the peoples already in the land, and that groups like the Philistines remained, with their descendants still a source of conflict today. He also pointed out that Israel has repeatedly won territory in wars and then conceded it back in exchange for peace. Brian was direct that borders drawn outside of God's authority are not neutral, saying, "Borders drawn without God are lines drawn against God."
Pastor Brian brought the whole conversation back to something personal. Whatever the geopolitical complexity, the same God who owns the land has given every believer an inheritance in Christ, and he urged the congregation not to let resistance talk them out of it. He said, "That old dirty devil will try to cheat you out of land and say that that's too much to ask." His heart, as he put it, was that every person would fully possess what God has said belongs to them.
