At Tribe, the teaching on the Asbury revival came up during the second week of the "Turn the Cat Around" series. Before getting into the main text, Pastor Brian opened the floor for the congregation to share firsthand accounts and questions about what was happening at Asbury University, which had been going on for about a week at that point. People brought a mix of excitement, genuine questions about whether it qualified as a true revival, and some disappointment over reports that crowds had been turned away.
Pastor Brian said he was cautiously optimistic. He pushed back gently on the revival label while affirming that God was clearly up to something there. He also brought up a prophecy from a man named Bob Jones, who had said to expect revival when the Kansas City Chiefs win the Super Bowl, and connected that expectation to what seemed to be unfolding at Asbury.
The conversation about Asbury set the tone for the rest of the service, landing alongside a testimony from within the congregation about unexpected physical healing during a prayer meeting. Together, those two things framed the morning's bigger point: being in God's presence matters, and what happens there is not always predictable or something you specifically asked for.
