What does Tribe teach about baptism?

At Tribe, the teaching on baptism of the Holy Spirit starts with a simple but important distinction: every Christian already has the Holy Spirit living fully in them from the moment they are saved. Pastor Brian pushed back on the idea that some believers are Spirit-filled and others are not, because according to scripture the Holy Spirit takes up residence completely at salvation, not in fragments. The real question is not whether the Spirit is present, but whether he is being given permission to operate. As Brian puts it, "When I get saved, the Holy Spirit lives in me, but he awaits for me to give him permission to operate through me."
To help the room understand why that permission matters, Brian used a computer analogy. Salvation installs a new and superior operating system in a person, but it does not erase the old corrupted one. Both run at the same time, and every day a believer chooses which one they live out of. He grounded that in Romans 7, where Paul describes wanting to do good and finding himself doing what he hates instead, and noted the tension Paul describes is the same tension every honest Christian recognizes in their own life. Nobody resolves that tension by trying harder on their own. Brian made the point plainly: "Nobody can live Jesus's life like Jesus."
The baptism of the Holy Spirit matters practically because the Spirit is what gives a believer the capacity to stand firm under pressure, to grow in wisdom rather than repeating the same failures, and to be among those who run toward Jesus rather than shrink back from him. Brian drew from Ephesians 1:17 on the Spirit giving wisdom and knowledge of God, and from Revelation 22:17 on the Spirit and the bride calling together. The water baptism the congregation had done at Flat Creek the week before made the timing of this teaching feel natural, connecting the outward act to the inward reality it points to.
