What does Tribe teach about breaking sin habits?
Drawn from the message where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.
At Tribe, the teaching on breaking sin habits starts with a disarmingly honest admission: walking in the flesh requires absolutely no effort. As Amanda Luck put it in the Walking in the Spirit series, "We don't have to try at all to sin, not even a little. It just happens." The flesh is the default, and the list Paul gives in Galatians five is a wide one, running from obvious wrongs to subtler patterns like pride, self-pity dressed up as righteous indignation, gossip that feels like sharing, and doing nothing when you know what you should do. That last one carries real weight in the teaching, grounded in James 4:17: knowing what you ought to do and not doing it is itself sin.
Amanda also drew on a Hebrew word study on avon, the Old Testament word for iniquity, where the individual letters picture eyes being hooked again and again. The point was that you become what you behold, and that the enemy's core strategy across all of history is to get people focused on themselves rather than on God. Understanding that pattern is part of what makes it possible to step out of it.
The way out is not straining harder toward a checklist of good behavior. The fruits of the spirit, the teaching says, are not nine targets to chase but what naturally grows when you abide in the spirit, the way fruit grows on a tree without the tree straining for it. The measuring stick is not effort but attention to what is actually growing in your life. And the motivation is not guilt but worth: "Jesus paid too high of a price for us to choose to continue to live in the flesh."

9 For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don’t cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
10 that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
