What does Tribe teach about closing spiritual doors?

At Tribe, the teaching on closing spiritual doors begins with a passage most people might read past. Brian opened in Zechariah 10:1-2 and said the two halves of that text belong together: God's promise of rain and God's warning about household gods, fortune tellers, and interpreters of dreams are not separate ideas. You cannot appreciate the promise, he taught, until you have sat honestly with the warning.
Brian walked through each of the three counterfeit sources of guidance the passage names. On household gods, he was direct that most people in the room have never kept a literal shrine, but he said every person's heart is like a home, and the real question is what has been given a place of honor there. He used his own years of devotion to mountain life as an example of an idol that looked harmless but was, in his words, non-nutritious and fruitless. On fortune tellers, he described two kinds: one a parlor trick, the other involving genuine supernatural access through means God has not sanctioned. The danger in either case, he said, is the hidden cost. The enemy's way of operating is to put attractive benefits on the surface while the real terms stay buried, the way a contract's fine print conceals what you are actually signing. Brian extended that same warning to drug use, saying altered states open doors the user did not intend to open, and the enemy reserves the right to use that access at a time of his choosing, not the user's. As Brian put it, "If the door is open that you have opened, the enemy literally has a legal right to do it."
The teaching did not stop at the warning. Brian said God's response to someone who turns back and asks him is far more generous than anything that person thought to request. He described the way people often approach God tentatively, as if barely expecting scraps, and said God's actual posture is one of abundance far beyond what we imagine to ask for. The service closed at the communion table, and Brian said the Lord's intention for those who close these doors is not just relief but restoration: not only will the door be shut, but healing and wholeness will follow.
