What does Tribe teach about compromising faith?

At Tribe, the teaching on compromising faith starts with a simple image: a cat that likes being petted one way and is not going to change. If it feels wrong, you turn the cat around. The point, as Amanda Lack laid out in part five of the series, is that God's word and character do not change, so the call on a believer's life is not to get comfortable but to stay calibrated. Amanda puts it plainly: "He doesn't change. We need to turn our cat around."
The teaching identifies three ways a life quietly drifts out of alignment before a person even notices. The first is poor gatekeeping, letting the wrong things settle into your eyes, ears, imagination, and habits. Drawing on 1 John 2:15-17, Amanda described how the love of physical pleasure and pride in possessions crowds out love for the Father. The second is believing half-truths. An outright lie is usually easy to catch, but a half-truth sounds reasonable while hiding the part that does the damage, which is exactly the pattern in Genesis 3. The test she gave is whether something lines up with God's character and whether it is in his word. The third is compromise itself. In human relationships, meeting in the middle is healthy, but God's ways are described in scripture as perfect and higher than ours, so the direction of movement is always toward what he says, not toward a middle ground with him.
Amanda pointed to the church at Laodicea in Revelation 3:15 as a warning about what lukewarm faith actually costs. The broader teaching at Tribe holds that sitting still on this is not a neutral position. As Amanda said in the message, "Metaphorically staying in your seat or not responding isn't a neutral stance. It's a choice." The standard the teaching keeps returning to is whether your life is calibrated to scripture, not just whether it feels comfortable, and that calibration is something to tend before the drift happens, not only after.
