What does Tribe teach about dreams and visions?

Drawn from the message where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At Tribe, the teaching on dreams and visions sits inside a broader conversation about hearing God's voice. In the "Hearing Aids" message, the series frames hearing God not as a gift reserved for a few but as a skill anyone can develop. That starting point matters for how the church thinks about dreams and visions: they are one channel among several through which God speaks, available to ordinary people willing to pay attention and keep growing.

The message drew from Job 33:15-16 as part of its survey of the tools God uses to communicate, placing dreams and visions alongside his word, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and the peace of Christ. The underlying conviction driving all of it is that God genuinely wants to be heard. The opening of that gathering put it plainly, drawing from Song of Solomon chapter two to say that Jesus is madly in love with us and the deepest desire of his heart is to see our face and to hear our voice. Visions and dreams are understood in that relational frame: they are not oddities or rarities but expressions of a God who is actively reaching toward people.

The teaching also holds dreams and visions accountable to the other hearing aids. Brian has been clear that no single channel operates in isolation. Peace, scripture, the Spirit's prompting, wise counsel from Proverbs, and circumstances all work together, and any one of them needs the others as a check. A person processing a dream or vision at Tribe would be encouraged to weigh it against those other tools rather than treat it as self-interpreting.
