What does Tribe teach about election anxiety?

At Tribe, the teaching on election anxiety starts not with politics but with the size of your picture of Jesus. In the sermon preached the day before the 2024 election, Brian walked the congregation through John 7 and pressed a single question: is the Jesus you are carrying big enough to hold everything the Bible actually says about him? His argument was that most Christians have built their whole frame around the belief moment in John 7:31, and that frame is too small to bear the noise that always surrounds that moment, grumbling, accusations, confusion, leaders trying to make an arrest. When circumstances feel chaotic or threatening, a person with only that small picture will be blindsided and disillusioned by everything around them.
Brian moved to Habakkuk 3 to show that the Bible's portrait of Jesus includes things that do not fit neatly into comfortable categories: nations trembling, mountains leveled, pestilence and plague accompanying his return. His point was not to argue a particular end-times position but to say that if your wineskin cannot stretch to hold a Jesus like that, you will not be able to receive what God is actually doing in a turbulent moment. He said plainly, "He is working secretly, unknown to you. You may be looking for him in the midst of whatever it is that you're going through, not being able to see him."
The practical word Brian left with the congregation was this: "Do not be distracted by superficial events and opinions, but look beneath the surface to discover what God is up to." That is Tribe's posture toward election anxiety specifically. The events on the surface, the results, the reactions, the noise, are real, but they are not the whole picture. The call is to keep stretching toward a bigger view of who Jesus is and what he is doing, and to trust that he is working even when he cannot be seen.
