What does Tribe teach about eternal salvation?

At Tribe, the teaching on eternal salvation is rooted in the question of where a person has placed their deepest trust. Brian used the image from Isaiah 22 of a peg driven firmly into a wall to press that question: whatever a person believes about God, about meaning, and about their own life is like a hat, and the hook it hangs on either bears the weight or it does not. The concern behind the whole message was that people often rest their beliefs on hooks that look solid but will eventually give way.

Brian worked toward Jesus as the only hook that can actually hold. He argued that the claims Jesus made about himself leave a person with a narrow set of conclusions, and he put it plainly: "He was either a liar, might have been a lunatic, or if you really consider his claims, the only reasonable conclusion is that he is Lord." That framing was not a puzzle to solve but a weight to feel, because the answer changes what a person hangs their life on. Brian also connected the character of God directly to salvation, saying that God's primary attribute is love, and that because love requires an object, God made people on purpose and happens to like them. A God like that, he said, is a far more load-bearing place to rest questions of meaning and eternal hope.

The pastoral heart under all of it was stated directly: Brian says, "God loves you so much he doesn't want to see your beliefs be rested on a hook that cannot bear the weight." Eternal salvation, in this teaching, is not a doctrine sitting at a distance. It is the answer to the most personal question a person carries, and the claim is that Jesus is the one peg driven into place that will not fail.
