What does Tribe teach about hamas attack?

At Tribe, the teaching on the Hamas attack begins with a conviction that followers of Jesus cannot approach this moment without a biblical frame already in place. When Hamas launched its coordinated attack on October 7, 2023, Brian Hunter set aside his prepared message and opened the floor to the congregation, walking through what had actually happened, what Zechariah and Romans say about Israel's place in God's purposes, and why two-plus years of studying Israel and the coming kingdom had prepared the church for exactly this kind of hour. His point was direct: as Brian says, "If we do not approach Israel with sobriety and a biblical narrative, we will reel and stagger and trip all over ourselves." Without that narrative already in place, believers get swept into someone else's story, or into no coherent story at all.
The teaching draws heavily on Romans 11 and Zechariah 12 to show that what is happening is not a geopolitical surprise. God's hardening of Israel was purposeful, making room for Gentiles to be grafted in, and the new covenant itself was first made with the house of Israel. Zechariah 12 describes Jerusalem as an intoxicating drink that causes surrounding nations to stagger, and Brian used COVID as a small frame of reference for how a single flashpoint can divide and inflame the whole world. What is happening around Israel will do that on a far greater scale. The congregation was also reminded that God's love for Jerusalem is the non-negotiable starting point, rooted in Zechariah 8:2, and that replacement theology, the idea that the church has replaced Israel and God is finished with the Jewish people, has no place in the teaching here.
Running underneath both messages is a call to humility and sobriety rather than fear. Brian pointed the congregation to 2 Kings 6, where Elisha's servant is shown the hillside full of horses and chariots of fire, and to the reminder that "there are more on our side than on theirs." The story of Israel, Brian has said, is our story too, which means the posture Tribe fam is called to is not detached observation but deep, informed, prayerful engagement with what God is doing in history right now.
