At Tribe, the teaching on Israel and prayer is rooted in a covenant framework. God's relationship with Israel is not incidental to scripture but runs through the whole of it, and Brian has worked through that thread carefully across more than one series. The starting point is always the same: God calls Israel his firstborn son in Exodus 4:22, and every obligation of a good father follows from that. He nurtures, he guides, he disciplines. Isaiah 5 pictures him as a vineyard owner who planted the finest vines, spared no expense, and got wild grapes in return. The metaphor is plain by verse seven: the vineyard is Israel, and the heartbreak belongs to God.
The discipline side of that covenant is where the teaching gets specific. Brian has traced the pattern across the sweep of scripture and pointed to removal from the land as God's primary method of correcting Israel when warning after warning goes unheeded. Isaiah 5:13-16 and Jeremiah 30 both describe it. That history is not presented as ancient and finished. When Brian paused a current series to address a wave of pride events beginning in Israel on June 1, he brought that same covenant pattern into the present moment, asking the congregation to sit with what it might mean for what is unfolding right now. The invitation at the end of that conversation was not to judgment but to intercession.
The Isaiah 62 series pressed the congregation further into what active prayer for Israel looks like. Working through verses 10 through 12, Pastor Brian drew out the image of preparing a highway and raising a flag for the nations as something the congregation is meant to take hold of, not simply observe. The eyes of the world are on Israel, and Tribe's teaching has consistently placed prayer for that land inside a specific biblical story rather than a general political concern. The weight of current events is real, but as one member shared from Psalm 91 before a sermon in that series, the congregation is called to carry it without letting it rob them of joy and fellowship.
