What does Tribe teach about jesus exclusive?

At Tribe, the teaching on this starts with the most contested thing Jesus ever said: 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' Brian Hunter opened by asking the congregation why those words would get Jesus canceled, then and now. The answers people gave, that all roads lead to God, that being a good person is enough, that God does not exist at all, set up the tension Brian wanted to work through: how can Jesus be exclusive and still be genuinely good news? His answer is that the exclusivity and the good news are inseparable. Every religion humans have built asks people to climb their own way up to God. Brian says that climb is impossible, and Jesus is the one who has already done something about it. Unlike the IRS, which tells you what you owe but leaves you to figure out how to pay it, Jesus tells you exactly what the answer is and has already paid it.
Brian worked through Ephesians 2, Romans 10, and James 4 to show that the offer is far wider than people assume. In Ephesians 2, Paul writes that salvation is by grace through faith, not by works, so that no one can boast. Brian kept pausing to ask whether each phrase was inclusive or exclusive, because his point was that the mechanism of salvation is radically open. No one is disqualified by their past. In Romans 10, 'everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved' is as wide as language allows. But there is only one name. As Brian put it, there are a million ways to Jesus, and there's only one way to God, and that is through his son. Inclusive in scope, exclusive in means, and those two things are not in contradiction.
He closed with James 4:6, which he attributed to James, the brother of Jesus: 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.' Brian described pride as the thing that keeps a person on the outside and humility as what opens the door. Brian says, 'Humility is the key that unlocks the doors of God's grace.' The door is one door, but once it opens, the inside reads all are welcome.
