What does Tribe teach about only way to god?

At Tribe, the teaching on this starts with the most contested thing Jesus ever said: 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' Brian Hunter opened both messages by asking the congregation directly why those words would get Jesus canceled, then and now. The answer he worked toward is that Jesus is making an exclusive claim, and our culture has no patience for exclusivity. But Brian pressed further, arguing that the exclusivity and the good news are not separate things. They are the same thing. Every religion humans have invented asks people to climb their own way up to God. Brian said that climb is impossible. Jesus is not leaving anyone to figure it out alone. As Brian put it, 'there are a million ways to Jesus, and there's only one way to God, and that is through his son.'
Brian moved through Ephesians 2 and Romans 10 to show that the mechanism of salvation is wide open even while the door is only one door. In Ephesians 2, Paul says the gift is by grace through faith, not by works, so no one can boast. In Romans 10, 'everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved' is as inclusive as language gets, but there is only one name. Brian kept asking the congregation to call out whether each phrase was inclusive or exclusive, because he wanted that tension to sit in the room. His point was that those two things are not in contradiction. The offer is thrown open as wide as it can go. The door is one.
Brian closed the argument with James 4:6, which he attributed to James, the brother of Jesus: 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.' He described pride as a door that stays locked from the inside, and humility as what opens it. Brian says, 'Humility is the key that unlocks the doors of God's grace.' On the other side of that door, he said, the sign reads all are welcome.
