He says holding the tension honestly is what moves a person from spectator to participant. Praying scripture back to God over a situation, returning to promises like the ones in Isaiah 62 that Jerusalem's righteousness will shine like the dawn, is more than venting a feeling. It is the work of a watchman.
That watchman language comes from Isaiah 62:6, where Brian points out that God is the one doing the appointing. This is not a role anyone wanders into casually. He has connected it to the fivefold ministry in Ephesians, to the prophetic function in the local church, and to the broader question of what God may be stirring in this generation ahead of the second advent. He believes Tribe fam's years of studying Israel and the coming kingdom were preparation the congregation did not know they would need. "If you stand against Israel, you are standing against the Lord," he has said, and that conviction shapes everything about how he calls the church to pray.
