What does Tribe teach about tribulation?

At Tribe, the teaching on tribulation begins not with dread but with a deliberate effort to replace anxiety with clarity. In the series closing message on the return of Jesus, Pastor Brian walked the congregation through Matthew 24 and what Jesus himself describes as the events leading up to his coming back. He acknowledged openly that these passages have caused real fear for people in the Tribe family, pointing to a woman who had avoided Daniel, Revelation, and the Matthew 24 texts for years because they kept her up at night. What finally changed things for her was pressing into those passages, reading commentaries, asking hard questions, and building a biblically grounded picture of what is ahead. Brian framed the whole exercise the way a good parent prepares a child for what is coming, so the child is not blindsided.
Brian organized what Jesus describes in Matthew 24 into three broad phases, the first being birth pains, the period Jesus names in verse 8, marked by wars, rumors of wars, false messiahs, famines, and earthquakes. He was careful to hold in tension both the literal and the broader meaning of those signs. He also pushed back on any reading of these passages that turns into passivity, noting that the enemy would love to use them that way. Brian says, "The enemy would love to lull us into complacency with this verse right here by saying, don't worry your pretty little head about it." The posture Tribe calls people toward is the opposite of hiding. As Brian put it, "We will not be hiding under rocks and in caves and in bunkers with our gold and green beans and guns. The gospel will be advancing."
The anchor underneath all of it is the character of Jesus toward his people. Brian's word on that was simple and direct: "He couldn't love you anymore than he already does, and his love is so great that not even the forces of hell could prevent him from coming back for you." The goal across all of this teaching has been to move people from fear toward confidence and even eagerness, grounded in a clear-eyed look at what scripture actually says rather than in avoidance or speculation.
