What does Tribe teach about wisdom?

At Tribe, the teaching on wisdom starts with a posture, not a method. Brian has come back to this more than once: wisdom is not primarily about accumulating the right information, it is about approaching God and the world from the right angle. That angle is awe and reverence, coming to God without a predetermined conclusion already in hand. In the Luke 7 message he put it in the form of a prayer: "Lord, you tell me I'm not going to come with my preconceived notions. I just want your truth and wisdom." The Pharisees in that passage were educated and serious about religion, and they still missed it, because their resistance was not to the messenger or the method. It was a settled unwillingness to receive the truth at all.
Brian has also taught that wisdom is practical in a very specific way: it knows the difference between a problem that needs solving and a tension that needs managing. Applying the wrong strategy to a situation is not neutral, it keeps you stuck and it keeps the people around you stuck. That discernment, knowing which kind of challenge you are actually facing, is part of what it means to live wisely rather than just react.
The Filtering the Future messages drew from 1 Chronicles 12:32 and Daniel 12 to argue that this kind of wisdom is not optional for Christians who want to lead anyone, whether a family, a workplace, or a wider circle. Brian pointed to three filters that have to work together, God's word, the Holy Spirit, and a sound mind, and was clear that none of the three does the job alone. Scripture without the Spirit can be twisted to say almost anything. A personal sense from the Spirit should not automatically be pressed onto everyone else. And the sound mind God gave you includes honest questions and a look at the whole record, not a curated edit of it. Wisdom, Brian said in the Luke 7 message, is shown to be right by looking at full lives, not clipped moments.
