What does Tribe teach about biblical prophecy?

At Tribe, the teaching on biblical prophecy starts with the conviction that the Bible is telling one long, coherent story from Genesis to Revelation, and that story is visibly unfolding right now. Joel Richardson laid out that arc in his January 2025 message: paradise lost, paradise restored. From the first promise in Genesis 3:15 that someone is coming to crush the serpent's head, through the warrior-king imagery of the Old Testament prophets, every thread in Scripture points toward a Messiah who returns to reestablish the throne of David, defeat a final deceptive dictator, and restore creation. The ending, Joel said, is not a ghostly existence in clouds but resurrection on a renewed earth, Eden and the kingdom of David folded together.

A central piece of how Joel teaches prophecy is the idea of echoes. The biblical writers, he argued, understood historical events as pictures pointing forward to one final fulfillment. Jael driving a tent peg through Sisera's skull in Judges 5 echoes the Genesis promise of a head-crusher, and Zechariah then calls the coming Messiah the tent peg. None of those earlier moments are the final fulfillment, but each one is a signal that the story is still on track. He applied that same interpretive lens to current events, including October 7, 2023, and said that for anyone who knows these texts, what is happening with Israel right now is not background noise. As Joel put it, "If God is done with Israel, someone forgot to tell the devil."

Pastor Brian's January 2026 series Unbreakable picks up the same thread from a different angle, grounding God's commitment to Israel directly in the text of Jeremiah and Isaiah. He walked the congregation through Jeremiah 31:35-37, where God says he would only consider casting off Israel once the heavens above had been fully measured and the foundations of the earth fully explored. That kind of language, Brian said, is not an aside in Scripture. The word never is built into the promise. He also pointed to how often Israel appears across the whole Bible, roughly 3,500 times, and noted that a large portion of the marriage references describe God as groom and Israel as bride, and a large portion of the parenting references describe God as father and Israel as child. Biblical prophecy, in this teaching, is not abstract. It is the framework through which Tribe understands what God is doing in the world and what faithfulness looks like in response to it.
