What does Tribe teach about election fear?
Drawn from the message where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.
At Tribe, the teaching on election fear starts with a question about the size of the picture of Jesus a person is carrying. In the message 'Look Beneath the Surface,' Brian preached that most Christians have a version of Jesus shaped by familiar verses and felt-board Sunday school images, and that version simply is not large enough to hold everything the Bible says about who He is. When circumstances get chaotic, a too-small picture of Jesus produces anxiety and confusion rather than steadiness.
Brian walked through John 7 to show that the famous moment of belief in verse 31 is surrounded by grumbling, accusations, fear, and widespread confusion. That is the actual texture of the scene. His point was that Christians who only see the calm verse and not the turbulent context around it will be caught off guard when real turbulence arrives. Habakkuk 3 pressed the same idea from another angle, describing a Jesus who comes with pestilence before Him and plagues behind Him. Brian's argument was that dismissing those harder passages, rather than letting them expand the picture, leaves people with a faith that cannot bear the weight of hard seasons.
With the 2024 election approaching, Brian connected this directly to what the congregation was about to face. He said the nation would need Christians who could stay calm and anchored rather than swept up in the chaos of weeks or months of mayhem. The teaching was that the path to that kind of steadiness is not managing fear better but knowing Jesus more fully, in the whole scope of who He actually is across the whole of Scripture.

The passage taught · Habakkuk 3:3-6
3 God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and his praise filled the earth.
4 His splendor is like the sunrise. Rays shine from his hand, where his power is hidden.
5 Plague went before him, and pestilence followed his feet.
6 He stood, and shook the earth. He looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains were crumbled. The age-old hills collapsed. His ways are eternal.
