What does Tribe teach about palm sunday?

At Tribe, Palm Sunday is treated as more than a calendar marker. Pastor Brian Hunter opens on the moment itself: Jesus riding down from the Mount of Olives, across the Kidron Valley, and through the Eastern Gate while the crowd spread coats and palm fronds and shouted the Aramaic word hosanna. Brian says, "Hosanna means save, please. Like, save us, please." He describes the desperation behind that word the way a drowning person cries out to the coast guard with their last breath, and he holds it there long enough for the congregation to feel the weight of what the crowd was actually asking for.
The teaching does not stay in the past. Brian connects the first arrival, Jesus on an unbroken colt, to the arrival the Bible still holds in front of us, Jesus on a white war horse. He draws on what the Old Testament calls the time of Jacob's trouble, a coming siege of Jerusalem, and says that in that moment Israel will turn to Jesus as their Messiah. He reaches into Paul's argument that if the gospel going to the Gentiles was remarkable, the national repentance of Israel will be even more so.
Both messages also use Palm Sunday as the doorway into Passover, since the two fell on the same weekend. Brian explains that God has been leading Tribe to recognize the seven biblical feasts as God's own family traditions, not as Jewish religious holidays borrowed from outside, and he says, "We celebrate them because we see Jesus in them and God has invited us into his family traditions." Palm Sunday, in that framing, is the entry point into the spring feasts, a moment that holds memory, recalibration, and rehearsal all at once.
